Lavern offers several distinct starting points for planning your trip: cycling routes and bike rentals, a specifically named hiking stage, local culture and archaeological sites. Cycling, hiking and culture each offer a different focus; plan your trip around what you’d like to do in Lavern.

Routes, Bikes and Getting There

Lavern is connected to the Via Augusta Penedès and the Penedès 360º Slow Bike Route. One hiking stage is specifically described: Sant Sadurní d’Anoia–Lavern. It is 5.60 kilometres long and designated as a hiking route. Another route through vineyards and wineries connects the settlements of Ca Batista, Can Bas, Ca l’Avi, Corral del Mestre and Can Cartró with Lavern. Alongside the hiking stage, you’ll find named route connections and a link to several settlements, offering different points of reference for planning your trip.

Lavern-Subirats station is a stop on Rodalies de Renfe’s R4 line. If you’re travelling by train, check the current timetable before setting off. The Enobicing Penedès area is located at the station, near the Riera de Lavernó. You can rent electric and conventional bikes there for El Camí del Riu. Check current availability and any reservation requirements before making plans.

The Estació Vitivinícola de Lavern offers tourist information, bike rental and an area for motorhomes. It is also the starting point for routes from Subirats. This gives you another starting point for planning if you’re interested in routes and tourist information. Local visitor services may change, so check the current arrangements if you plan to use any of these services.

Culture and Festivals

The Ateneu Agrícola de Lavern was founded in 1918. It has a theatre and a bar-café, and offers cultural and leisure activities. Its history, facilities and activities each give this cultural venue a distinct connection to Lavern. If you’re planning a specific visit, check the current visitor arrangements, as they may change.

Lavern’s Festa Major takes place on the last weekend of June. It features processional dances and festive animal figures. Since the dates can vary from year to year and individual events may change, check the specific festival programme for your trip. This way, you can plan your dates around the actual festival schedule rather than relying only on its usual timing.

Archaeological Sites and Local Amenities

The Torrota del Moro archaeological site is located in cultivated land, 300 metres from Ca l’Almirall in the Lavern area. Archaeological remains include Roman pottery finds on the surface and a surviving wall. The wall is approximately 3.20 metres high on average and 4.5 metres wide at its widest point. The pottery finds point to material remains from Roman times, while the wall describes the surviving structure at the site. Together, these two aspects give a concrete impression of its archaeological significance.

Font de Ca l’Olivella also has an area equipped for visitors. It has a table, benches and a rubbish bin. If you’re planning to spend time there, check the condition of the facilities on site.
