Llinars Del Vallès brings together a distinctive natural landscape, historic sites and recurring cultural events. If you are looking for a hotel for a stay here, you can plan your trip around whether you mainly want to spend time outdoors, discover archaeological remains or attend a concert or event. The different themes give your plans a specific focus without requiring you to limit yourself to just one kind of stay.

Landscape, Views and Trails

The landscape around Llinars Del Vallès offers opportunities for walks, as well as numerous hiking and cycling routes. Three sections of long-distance trails, the GR routes, also pass through the municipality. This means your travel plans can include individual walks as well as longer hiking trails; no particular distance or walking time is implied.

One notable landscape feature is Sant Joan Sanata, located on a 245-metre-high hill between the Montseny landscape and the Corredor. The summit of La Torrassa also offers a view of the surrounding landscape. Turó del Vent overlooks a natural pass through the Corredor, linking the Vallès Plain with the Maresme. These places offer different perspectives on the area, from a viewpoint to a passage between two landscape regions.

Cultural Heritage and Historic Traces

Castell Nou is considered the most emblematic symbol of Llinars Del Vallès. La Torrassa is a Roman tower and is designated a Site of National Cultural Interest. At Turó del Vent, landscape and archaeology meet: the settlement there dates from the 4th century BC. It was fortified and strategically located, and provides evidence of trade relations between the Iberians and Greek merchants and their trading posts.

Another prehistoric remnant is the Dolmen de Pedrarca, a funerary structure from the Neolithic or Copper Age. The two sites represent different periods of the past: the dolmen belongs to prehistoric times, while the settlement at Turó del Vent offers insight into the Iberian period. Together with the Roman tower of La Torrassa, they provide a broad range of historical themes for travellers interested in archaeological sites and cultural heritage.

The churches, too, have their own historical dates. Sant Sadurní de Collsabadell was first mentioned in 998 and consecrated in 1130. The present building is based on the original Romanesque church from the 12th century. Sant Joan de Sanata is a small church dating from 1572. These examples illustrate different aspects of local history: early mentions, consecration, Romanesque architecture and a later church.

Concerts and Recurring Events

Since 1998, Sant Joan Sanata has hosted the annual Cicle de Concerts a Sanata, a classical music concert series. Another annual event is Veniu a mi. La Passió de Llinars del Vallès: this theatrical performance about the public life, Passion and death of Jesus takes place at the Teatre Auditori de Llinars del Vallès on the two weekends before Holy Week. The Aplec de la Torrassa is held every April; the Fira dels Torrons takes place on the first weekend of December.

The occasions offer clear differences when choosing your travel dates: the concert series is devoted to classical music, while the theatrical performance takes place during a set period before Holy Week. April and the first weekend of December mark the time frames for the other two events.

Match your travel dates to the aspect of Llinars Del Vallès that interests you most.
