Plan your stay in Santa Susanna around a range of activities and attractions: beaches, open-water swimming, cycling, cultural heritage and green spaces. If you’re looking for a hotel in Santa Susanna, first consider which of these themes you want to shape your stay. For planning, specific place names, types of activities and visiting conditions matter.

Beaches and open-water swimming

Platja de Llevant is one of Santa Susanna’s two beaches; the other is called Les Caletes. Open-water swimming channels can be used by both professional and recreational swimmers, provided they are marked with buoys in the sea. Buoy marking is a requirement for both groups. If swimming is important to your trip, look for the buoy markers when you’re there.

Cycling on roads and in the natural park

Santa Susanna offers road cycling, mountain biking (BTT) and gravel routes. The BTT and gravel routes run through Parc Natural del Montnegre i el Corredor. This lets you distinguish between the three types of cycling, while also considering the natural park setting for BTT or gravel. When choosing, ask yourself: Which type of cycling interests you, and do you want a route through the natural park to be part of your plans?

Torre de Can Ratés and its historical context

Torre de Can Ratés was built in 1584 by Bartolomé Poch beside its associated masia. It was recently restored, is now one of Santa Susanna’s municipal facilities, and is classified as a Cultural Asset of National Interest. Its history, present-day municipal role and national classification come together at this one site. Visits to Torre de Can Ratés, the adjoining masia and the gardens are available during business hours and by request. Confirm the visiting arrangements in advance before making the complex a fixed part of your itinerary.

Green space and horse riding

Parc del Colomer is a large green space with an area for children, including play equipment and swings. There is a water fountain where visitors can cool off. Centre Eqüestre Santa Susanna is a riding school open to anyone interested. If you’re considering horse riding as an activity on your trip, you can explore this facility as a separate option alongside cycling and swimming.

Market and travel dates

The Mercat de Productes artesanals takes place every afternoon from 1 June to 15 October on Avinguda del Mar, along the Passeig Marítim. This is the key date range for planning: if the market is important to you, plan your trip around this period and confirm the dates in advance. The market runs during a seasonal period; visits to Torre de Can Ratés, the adjoining masia and the gardens are available during business hours and by request. Plan for these different visiting conditions separately.
