La Mòra can be explored through several clearly distinct themes: Platja de la Móra, the Tamarit-Punta de la Móra coastal landscape and Torre de la Móra. There are also two named routes associated with the beach, as well as bus lines that go all the way to Platja. For planning your trip, it is helpful to consider the beach, protected area, structure and transport connections separately. This way, you can first decide which aspect of the destination matters for your stay.

Beach and Coastal Landscape

Platja de la Móra is in the La Móra residential area and measures 520 × 65 metres. Fine sand characterises the beach. These measurements refer to this named beach, not the entire coastal area. This gives you a specific point of reference if you want to make the beach the focus of your travel plans; its size and surface provide a clear guide.

The Tamarit-Punta de la Móra area comprises a more or less rugged rocky coastline with small coves and sandy areas. This landscape differs from the description of Platja as a single beach with fine sand. The protected area also has a clearly defined spatial layout: its two sections are separated by Platja de la Móra and the La Móra residential area. The beach and residential area therefore lie between the two sections. If you want to understand the coastal formations, it is worth distinguishing this broader landscape from the named stretch of beach.

Torre de la Móra and Its History

Architecture and historical function are central to Torre de la Móra. The tower has a circular ground plan, very thick walls, embrasures and a raised entrance. It is about twelve metres high. Embrasures are openings in the masonry. The Torre is part of a network of watchtowers that monitored the Tarragona coast in the modern era. The structure's distinctive form is thus linked to its historical role on the coast. For choosing your destination, the Torre is a separate point of interest alongside the beach and landscape.

Routes and Bus Connections

Two named routes are associated with Platja de la Móra, but in different ways. “De Tarragona a Tamarit, la ruta dels enigmes” passes through Platja de La Móra. “Tomb de l'anella verda” reaches Platja de la Móra. If you choose a route associated with the beach, you can distinguish between one that passes through Platja and one that reaches it. Route conditions and access rules for “De Tarragona a Tamarit, la ruta dels enigmes” may change; check the latest information if you plan to take this route.

Bus lines 11, 12 and 13 have stops along the coast; all three go as far as Platja de la Móra. Since routes and seasonal timetables may change, check the current service before travelling. This lets you plan your journey using the timetable rather than assuming a fixed departure time.
