One of the largest hotel companies in the world - Carlson Hotels - announced its plans to open its first hotel in the U.S. under the brand name of Radisson blu.
Hotel brand Radisson blu is the latest product of the company, which is already well known in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, where it promotes the division of Carlson Hotels, the company Rezidor. To date, Radisson hotels are presented also in Russia. The flagship brand in the Russian market is hotel Radisson Lazurnaya Hotel in Sochi. Entering the U.S. market in 2011 for Radisson blu promises to be one of the most significant milestones in the modern history of the network.
Having established itself as a successful hotel project, Radisson blu is expected to become an active participant in the American hotel market. Carlson Hotels Company plans to invest in the development of such brands as "Green Radisson" and "Radisson blu" about 1.5 billion dollars. That is the plan of the company for the next five years.
According to Executive Vice-President of Carlson Hotels in North and South America, the first pilot project of the hotel in Chicago will cost 125 million dollars. Radisson Blu Aqua - is the name of the hotel - will occupy 18 floors of the skyscraper Aqua at Lakeshore East. In total newly built skyscraper will include 81 floors. The project of building a new hotel Carlson Hotels is carrying out with closely cooperation with the main developer - Magellan Development Group.
Radisson Blu is a new brand, which has replaced the old Radisson Sas. Change of the trademark occurred after Rezidor’s partner, the Scandinavian airline SAS, ceased cooperation with the chain. To date, the number of hotels of Radisson Blu worldwide is more than 150 hotels. 40 more hotels are in various stages of completion.
