Another cultural point of interest is the Ledong Cultural Center in Ledong’s administrative center. These places and facilities offer different highlights, allowing you to prioritize nature and culture according to your interests when planning your trip.

Jiaxi: Nature Reserve and Rainforest Landscape

Jiaxi Nature Reserve is a provincial-level state nature reserve of the forest ecosystem type. It protects tropical seasonal rainforest as well as rare wild animals and plants. Near Jiaxi Village, the Jiaxi Ridge is included in the reserve. The name Jiaxi is therefore associated with a specific landscape and a designated nature reserve.

Jiaxi Village in Baoyou Town encompasses a landscape of tropical rainforest, streams, ponds, and waterfalls. It is suitable for forest exploration and ecological nature tourism. Jiaxi also preserves a landscape characteristic of original tropical rainforest. If you are especially interested in forest and water landscapes, these features give the destination’s nature theme a distinct character.

The Jiaxi Tourism Road offers another point of reference. Completed at the end of 2016, it connects Baoyou Town with Jiaxi Ridge. Red Water Valley and Li cultural resources are located along the road. This corridor therefore brings cultural points of interest into view alongside the natural landscape. The places and landscapes mentioned offer different starting points for choosing what to focus on during your trip.

Baoqiu and Li Ceramics

Baoqiu has a tradition of making Li ceramics. In Baoqiu Village, artists create works in 紫金陶 (Purple-Gold Ceramics), combining elements of Li culture with pottery techniques. A 2024 description reports that 紫金陶 in Baoqiu attracted more than 80 ceramic artists from different parts of China. The artists created works there that bring together elements of Li culture and pottery techniques. The focus is thus both on a local ceramic tradition and on the combination of different artistic influences.

Described in 2024, Fuan Guiyuanju Shared Farm in Baoqiu brings together pottery experiences, cultural transmission, and industrial development in an integrated complex. This combination makes it another point of reference for ceramic culture in Baoqiu. A Spring Festival travel guide from January 2025 also described a ceramics area there that visitors could visit and try pottery in during the festive period. The area drew on Li ceramic culture and combined it with traditional techniques from Chinese ceramic and porcelain traditions.

The Baoqiu Pottery Garden’s description also highlights its combination of accommodation, artistic work, ceramic exhibitions, and pottery experiences. As described in 2024, the complex included 104 guest rooms, 22 artists’ studios, as well as exhibition areas and ceramic-making spaces.

Cultural Facilities in Ledong

The Ledong Cultural Center combines a cultural center, a library, and a museum, and is considered a cultural landmark in Ledong’s administrative center. In September 2024, the center was described as completed and in use. It complements Baoqiu’s ceramic themes with a cultural facility that serves several functions. Together with the natural and cultural landscapes around Jiaxi, it offers another focus to consider when planning your trip.
