Denai Cadamba: A hike requiring prior approval

Denai Cadamba is located on UiTM Cawangan Selangor’s Puncak Alam Campus. Visitors from outside the university and members of the public need both prior approval and permission from UiTM for jungle trekking. Check the current reservation and approval process with the university before your visit; the required arrangements mean this is not a hike to plan spontaneously once you arrive. The route is 5.4 kilometres long, starting at Kolam 5 and ending at Kolam 8. Its length and endpoints give you a concrete basis for weighing this hike against other interests during your stay.

Green space, forest, and a weather-dependent view

The hiking trail is part of a green area on campus that has so far been largely spared from campus development. The area is a fragmented tropical rainforest and a habitat for plants of various species and ages. For nature enthusiasts, the focus is therefore not only on a trail and a high point, but also on the plant diversity of the forest area. The highest point on Denai Cadamba is Bukit Cadamba, at 180 metres above sea level. The two figures describe different things: 5.4 kilometres is the trail length, while 180 metres is the height of the highest point above sea level. Another scenic landmark is Puncak Cadamba: in good weather, the waters of the Strait of Malacca between Port Klang and Kuala Selangor are clearly visible from there.

Cycling and other leisure activities

Those who prefer cycling to hiking will find a different option in Bandar Puncak Alam at TREX Bike Park. The trails are reserved exclusively for bicycles and include mountain bike obstacles; the park welcomes beginners and casual riders. This makes the park, which is designed specifically for bicycles, an alternative to the hiking trail, which requires prior approval. Dragonfly Park in Eco Grandeur Puncak Alam is used for exercise, jogging, and picnics. If you plan to visit the park, check current operating information beforehand.

INK Library Café and local art

INK Library Café is located at Grandeur Labs in Eco Grandeur, Puncak Alam. It is housed in a glass-container building that lets in natural light and offers views of the surrounding greenery. The café stocks more than 300 international magazine titles. By selling handcrafted works and holding pop-up bazaars, the café supports local artists. If you are visiting specifically for a particular title or bazaar, ask in advance about current offerings and dates; also check whether the café is currently operating before your visit.
