Nature between forests, water, and coast
Vũ Quang National Park protects a biodiverse tropical rainforest ecosystem with numerous rare animal and plant species and is one of the 28 ASEAN Heritage Parks. Rainforest, streams, waterfalls, and forest trails shape the park’s landscape. The ecological Trại-Tiểu Lake offers an expansive waterscape for walking, relaxing, and photography.
Suối Rào Àn stream in Hà Trai village, Sơn Kim 1 commune, has clear, cool water and is set amid the unspoiled mountain landscape of Hà Tĩnh’s border region. Visitors already come here, although tourism services are sometimes informal.
History and culture
Phan Đình Phùng’s base camp is in the buffer zone of Vũ Quang National Park. Established between 1887 and 1889, it is associated with the Cần Vương movement against French colonial rule and is considered the base of the insurgents led by Phan Đình Phùng. The camp is a nationally significant historic relic. The area features continuous mountainous terrain and natural trails, offering potential for sightseeing, historical exploration, and hands-on experiences on site.
On the Hồ Chí Minh Trail, Ngã ba Đồng Lộc is a historic relic of special national significance. It serves as a place to learn about revolutionary history and patriotism.
The Nguyễn Du memorial complex in Tiên Điền was recognized as a provincial-level tourist site on June 21, 2024, under Decision No. 1520/QĐ-UBND. Its exhibition area includes more than 2,000 artifacts, documents, and images about Nguyễn Du’s life and work and the Nguyễn Tiên Điền family.
Chùa Hương Tích on the Hồng Lĩnh mountain range combines historical and cultural significance with picturesque natural surroundings. The pilgrimage route to the pagoda passes through a landscape of streams, lakes, and extensive pine forests and is considered a nature experience. Chùa Cầm Sơn is more than 600 years old and is located on Thiên Cầm Mountain.

For planning your dates, keep in mind that the festival follows the lunar calendar, while some coastal activities and farm visits may vary in availability by season or current conditions.
