Tröpolach can be explored through a variety of interests: mountain biking on the MEX-Line I flow trail, taking the Millennium Express to the Nassfeld, enjoying views over the Gail Valley from the Tröpolacher Alm, and discovering the parish church and its architectural history. The Aqua Trail at the Nassfeld adds a circular hiking route to the options. If you are looking for a hotel in Tröpolach, these themes can shape your trip: a sporting route, a day of hiking, an alpine pasture or local history.

Mountain biking, cable car and circular trail

The MEX-Line I mountain bike flow trail is more than four kilometres long. It starts at Gmanberg, by the mountain station of the first section of the Millennium Express at an altitude of 1,044 metres. It descends to the valley station at 614 metres in Tröpolach and is suitable for beginners. Its length, starting point and destination provide specific reference points when choosing a bike route for your trip.

The Millennium Express takes passengers from Tröpolach to the Nassfeld. In the Felsenlabyrinth and Flying Fox area, there are 14 courses for visitors aged five and over. The cable car and courses operate seasonally; check the dates for your travel day.

The Aqua Trail at the Nassfeld is a circular hiking route along a water-themed trail. Along the way, there are individual water play stations and comfortable rest areas; the trail also offers an impressive panorama. The entire Aqua Trail is suitable for prams. Unlike the flow trail, it focuses on a circular route and water stations. The Aqua Trail combines a circular hiking route with water play stations; the flow trail is a mountain bike route for beginners.

Hiking and dining at the Tröpolacher Alm

The Tröpolacher Alm is at an elevation of 1,668 metres and is a starting point for numerous hikes. From there, you can enjoy views over the Gail Valley. The alpine pasture therefore combines a hiking starting point with a view across the valley.

A guided tour of the dairy and stable is available by prior registration and is offered seasonally. Hot meals are also available seasonally. These include Frigga, bacon with egg, goulash soup and Kaiserschmarrn. The tour and the food are different reasons to include the alpine pasture in your trip planning: prior registration is important for the tour, while the food is seasonal.

Parish church and church festival

Tröpolach Parish Church is a former 13th-century choir-tower church that was structurally altered in the late Gothic and Baroque periods. Inside, the vault is spanned by late Gothic net ribs with heraldic keystones. Tröpolach Parish Church is recorded as a parish in 1342. The building’s form, later alterations and details of the vault provide specific points of reference for the history of the village.

The Tröpolach church festival is scheduled for 18 October 2026; check the programme before your visit. A report from 2014 describes the festival as lasting three days: it began with a service in the Catholic church on Sunday and ended with Häfnschlagen on Tuesday; these programme details may have changed since then. The account from that time is clearly distinct from the event date scheduled for 2026.
