Kopfing im Innkreis: Trails, Forest and Culture

Kopfing im Innkreis combines nature and cultural experiences, each with a different focus. The treetop walk and several hiking trails offer specific ways to spend time outdoors; the cultural center, local customs room and parish church offer a different perspective. Treetop Walk, High Ropes Course and Views

The treetop walk is around 1,000 m long and has an observation tower with panoramic views across the Innviertel and the Bavarian Forest. The route therefore combines a clearly defined distance with sweeping views across two named landscapes. The high ropes course has a different focus: its features include wobbly bridges, suspended beams and airy platforms. Here, the emphasis is on movement and heights, while the treetop walk is associated with views and wide-open panoramas.

Ameisberg also offers its own distinctive landscape: from there, the view stretches over the Hausruck towards the Alps. Its highest point is at 732 m; on its southern side, a rock face drops approximately 10 m vertically. The views, elevation and rock face each describe a different aspect of this landscape.

Hiking: Distance, Walking Time and Destinations

When planning a hike, you can compare the distance, walking time and destination. The “Blick ins Land” circular trail is 16 km long; it takes approximately 4 to 5 hours to walk. The Bründlweg is shorter at 12.2 km and leads to Glatzinger Bründl. The “Jungfrauenstein Nr. 1” hike is family-friendly and runs mostly through shaded woodland. If a mainly shaded route matters to your plans, these details are especially specific. Trail No. 2, “Lichthäusl,” passes through the Tiefenbach gorge and by the remains of Kopfing's first power station. Along one route, you can encounter both a gorge and a piece of local technological history.

The Jungfrauenstein natural monument is located at the edge of the forest, where benches are available for a rest. A Way of the Cross begins in front of the Maria Bründl pilgrimage church and leads towards Matzelsdorf. The selection therefore includes hiking trails with stated distances and walking times, as well as specific landscape sites and pilgrimage stops.

Cultural Center and Religious Sites

Kopfing Cultural Center includes a sculpture park and an herb garden. The art and culture park at the cultural center displays works of art made from wood. The local customs room offers a glimpse of life around 1900, primarily from the perspective of women. These topics each have a different focus: art, gardens and a cultural-historical glimpse into a specific period.
