Jezerane: Church, History and Caves
Accommodation in Jezerane
At the centre of Jezerane stands the Church of St. George the Martyr. It was built in 1821. Jezerane is also the birthplace of Croatian Admiral Janko pl. Vuković Podkapelski. The church and this historical figure offer two distinct connections to the history of the area: a sacred building with a specific year of construction and a connection to a Croatian admiral.
History and speleological sites in Jezerane
Associated with Jezerane are the Maljen archaeological site and the speleological sites of Rokina Bezdana and Pećina. Alongside local history, these bring archaeological and cave-related themes into focus. When the water level is low, you can enter Pećina to see its underground surroundings. If this experience is a priority for you, plan your visit with the water level in mind and check it in advance.
