Voloder lies at the foot of Moslavačka gora and combines winegrowing with a distinctive ecclesiastical heritage. This means different interests can take centre stage during a stay: wine and harvest customs, church architecture, cycling or walks in the wider hilly landscape.

If you are looking for a hotel for a trip to Voloder, you can first base your choice on what you plan to spend time doing: exploring wine culture, visiting the parish church or enjoying outdoor activities. If you are travelling specifically for Voloderska jesen, check the date and the relevant programme in advance.

Winegrowing and Voloderska jesen

Winegrowing and wine cellar production in Voloder are associated with several grape varieties: škrlet, chardonnay, pinot bijeli and frankovka. The local wine culture is therefore not limited to a single variety. The Moslavačka klet in Voloder is also connected with the Moslavina wine roads. Along these wine roads, visitors can arrange tastings of indigenous wines, especially Škrlet, and traditional local specialities. Prior arrangements are required for traditional cuisine.

Voloderska jesen is a traditional event dedicated to wine and harvest customs. The 58th edition was held in Voloder. Its programme included Dvor škrleta and the Stazama škrleta race. At the opening, KUD Moslavec from Voloder presented traditional customs. These programme items were part of that edition; individual programmes may vary. If you are planning your trip around the festival, therefore, check your preferred date and the current programme in advance.

Parish Church of St. Anthony of Padua

The Parish Church of St. Anthony of Padua was built and consecrated in 1863. Its single-nave Neo-Gothic structure has a solid bell tower, a polygonal chancel and two side chapels. The combination of the main nave, tower and side chapels gives the church a clearly articulated design; the chancel adds another distinctive form to the building.

The organ is also associated with 1863: it was made by Šimenc. An extract from the Croatian Ministry of Culture dated 4 January 2021 lists the church as an individually protected immovable cultural property under code Z-2837. Together, the architecture, organ and protected status form a distinct cultural highlight for travellers who want to add a historical perspective to their stay alongside wine and landscape.

Cycling and hiking on Moslavačka gora

The Srednjovjekovna staza cycling route runs for approximately 32 kilometres through Voloder. Its gradual climb passes through vineyards, orchards and wooded areas; the route is classified as challenging. Its length and rating can help you assess it as a substantial cycling stage. Check local conditions before setting out.

For hiking, nearby Moslavačka gora offers marked trails through wooded hills. The wider landscape features streams, small waterfalls, viewpoints and geological features. The area’s medieval archaeological heritage includes Jelengrad, Garić grad, Bela crkva and Košuta grad. The cycling route and hiking trails appeal to different activity interests; the places and features mentioned refer to the wider Moslavačka gora area and not exclusively to Voloder.

Horse riding and suitable travel interests

OPG Petters in Voloder offers a riding school and recreational horse riding. Arrange the details before your trip. This lets you include horse riding as a separate part of your plans without equating it with the challenging cycling route or the marked hiking trails.

This gives you a clear overview of Voloder’s different sides as a destination: wine and harvest customs form one focus, the church provides a cultural highlight, and cycling, hiking and horse riding offer further interests to consider when planning your trip.
