Discover Medulin
Accommodation in Medulin
Medulin combines archaeological remains with cultural programmes. The multimedia Vižula Archaeological Park is located on the Vižula Peninsula, in the heart of Medulin. The archaeological remains date from the Neolithic period through Late Antiquity to the Early Middle Ages. Among the most significant discoveries is a large, luxurious Roman maritime residential villa with mosaics and fine marble.
The park has two food and drink establishments, children’s playgrounds, an adventure park and an event stage in a former quarry. An ancient garden, an information point and tablet-based visualisations of the Roman villa round out the offering. In the wider destination of Općina Medulin, visitors can also attend a school of archaeology at the Vižula Archaeological Park. Information signs in Braille and a circular tactile map are also part of the park. Facilities and interpretation may change; check the latest information before visiting.
The tourist cultural programmes showcase local heritage through the ancient performance Cripo, the interactive Roman Walk on Vižula and the Malin Fest. The festival focuses on the tradition of the Medulin windmill. As the event programme may not run continuously, it is worth checking the current calendar before visiting.
