Linardići: Cycling Routes, Boat Rental and Church History
Accommodation in Linardići
Linardići combines a long-established settlement pattern with cycling routes and services around Vela Jana. If you’re looking for a place to stay with a focus on cycling, boat rental or church history, these themes offer concrete starting points for planning your trip.
Village Character and Architectural History
Linardići is one of 13 settlements and hamlets in the Šotovento area. The settlements there have preserved their original layout, with stone houses clustered closely together. This gives the village a distinctly rural architectural character; its history can also be traced through individual churches.
The parish church of St. Fuska was created toward the end of the 19th century by converting an older chapel dedicated to St. Anthony the Hermit. Its architectural history thus spans two periods: the earlier chapel and its dedication, and its later transformation into a parish church.
Cycling Routes and Boat Rental
The official B-427 Putovima sedam sela cycling route passes through Linardići. It is 32.9 kilometres long and classified as a moderately difficult road route on existing paved roads. Its length, difficulty rating and surface give you specific details to consider when choosing a cycling trip by distance and terrain.
The B-425 also passes through Linardići. It runs above the bay and harbour of Vela Jana, then passes through Linardići on its way back to Milohnići. Check route conditions before setting off. The two routes offer different information for planning: the B-427 is described by its length, difficulty rating and road surface; the B-425 is defined by its route via Vela Jana and back through Linardići.
Vela Jana is nearby, a public port for maritime traffic managed by the Krk County Port Authority. It has a 14-metre operational section for passengers to embark and disembark. The port also has moorings for 143 municipal boats and six nautical boats. Operational details may change, and capacity may change as a result of infrastructure work.
Sotovento Boat Rental uses Vela Jana in the Linardići area as its departure port. Half-day and full-day rentals are available, with or without a skipper. If you plan to use this option, confirm current availability, rental terms and departure arrangements in advance; these may change.
Churches in the Surrounding Area
The Church of St. Sixtus stands between Pinezići and Linardići. It is first documented in the 13th century and is preserved up to the roof; the front wall is missing. Together with the parish church of St. Fuska, it presents a clear contrast in age: St. Sixtus is first documented in the Middle Ages, while St. Fuska was shaped by the conversion of an older chapel toward the end of the 19th century.
The H130 circular trail near Glavotok is another nearby hiking option. It is 7.2 kilometres long and moderately difficult. The route highlights the Church of St. Chrysogonus as a representative example of insular Romanesque architecture. The trail description thus links a specific circular hike with an architectural point of interest, while the churches near Linardići have their own historical significance.
