Vidalici by the Sea: Beach and Pag Bay

Vidalici is a small, quiet seaside settlement about 4 km from Novalja. Zrće Beach and the Pag Triangle are nearby; the settlement also has a beach that stretches along its entire length. The coastline in Vidalici also includes small beaches.

Beach and Bay

The beach in Vidalici stretches along the entire length of the settlement. It is mostly pebbly, with some rocky sections. There is no natural shade. If you plan to spend an extended time by the shore, take this into account when planning. The beach is considered suitable for a quiet family holiday. From Vidalici, views extend across the whole of Pag Bay. For a day at the beach, it is worth considering the beach’s sheltered aspect together with its pebbly, rocky ground and lack of natural shade.

Promenade and Cycling Route

The promenade along Barbat runs from Vidalići to Metajna. The Caska–Metajna cycling route passes through Vidalici; it is 12 km long (11.7 km), runs mostly at an elevation of 20 to 30 m above sea level, and offers views of Pag Bay. The two routes have different features to consider: the promenade runs from Vidalići to Metajna, while the cycling route combines distance, elevation, and views of the bay.

Pag Triangle and Surroundings

The Pag Triangle measures 32 × 32 × 22 m. If you want to walk there from Vidalici, you must proceed carefully over rocky ground; there is no well-worn path. Access conditions may change, so check the current conditions before setting out. One route to the Pag Triangle follows dry-stone walls and is considered the fastest way to reach an unusual footprint in the rock. A path to the Pag Triangle begins near Metajna.

The nearby Beriknica Beach is accessible only on foot or by boat. These access conditions may also change; check them before your visit. Stogaj is known to climbing enthusiasts in the area. Check access and equipment locally.

Regional Connections and Seasonal Evenings

Vidalici, Kustići, Zubovići, and Metajna are collectively known as Barbati. The name brings the four settlements together under a shared regional term. Seasonal fishermen’s evenings featuring freshly prepared fish, wine, and singing take place in Metajna. If you want to include one of these evenings in your trip, check the dates in advance. Metajna is both the destination of the promenade and the venue for the seasonal fishermen’s evenings; consider the route and event date as separate points in your planning.
