Naklice: Hiking and Local Culture
Accommodation in Naklice
Naklice can be explored on a hiking-focused trip through tours of varying lengths. Route 806 begins in the village beside the Church of St. Anthony the Hermit and heads towards Stomorica. Route 807 passes through Naklice to the Komorjak viewpoint. On the Gospa Snježna hike, the first section climbs from Lisičina to Naklice. If you are looking for a hotel for your stay, the planned duration of your hike can be a practical guide to planning your day.
Route 806 to Stomorica
The 430-metre section through the village is classified as easy and officially signposted; it passes houses and olive groves. The path then descends to the Lisičina stream before climbing again towards the Stomorica plateau. The route thus changes from a village section to the stream and then a climb. The HPS hiking trail plan for 2024–2025 lists Route 806 Naklice–Stomorica as 1.53 kilometres long, with an estimated walking time of one hour. The 430 metres refer to the section through Naklice, not the entire route. As you gain altitude, views open up across the Omiš hinterland, Poljička Dubrava and Mosor.
From Lisičina to Komorjak
Route 807 begins at the Lisičina entrance, near the town bridge in Omiš and the Cetina River; an official hiking trail sign is located there. From Naklice, the trail passes through low pines and maquis towards the Komorjak viewpoint. From there, panoramic views extend across Omiš and the Cetina River. The two routes offer different perspectives: as Route 806 climbs, views open up across the Omiš hinterland, Poljička Dubrava and Mosor, while the panorama from Komorjak takes in Omiš and the Cetina River. Check the current signposting and access conditions before setting out.
Comparing Hiking Times
On the Gospa Snježna hike from Lisičina, the first section climbs to Naklice. The hike from Lisičina is estimated to take approximately three to four hours. This is a different timeframe from Route 806, which is estimated to take one hour: the approximate duration of three to four hours applies to the hike from Lisičina, not just the initial climb to Naklice. This comparison helps you match the two time estimates to their respective hikes when planning your day.
Customs, Games and Dialect
Alongside its hiking trails, the book “Nakličke užance” also documents local themes: it records customs and games associated with Naklice. A 2022 HRT report mentions approximately 1,000 local expressions and proverbs, as well as a dialect dictionary with more than 7,000 words. In addition to traditional customs and games, the book therefore includes an extensive collection of linguistic expressions. This offers a different focus for trip planning than the trails: you can discover Naklice both through the hikes described here and through its documented local customs and dialect.
