The landscapes also differ: one trail is shaped by woodland below the northern slope, while the other passes rocky slopes towards the gorge.

Trail 606 passes Visućgrad, a medieval fortress that once defended access to Omiš and Poljica against the Ottomans. At the end of the trail is Fortica Fortress, also known as Starigrad. From there, the view extends over Omiš, the sea and the islands. This trail thus combines rocky slopes, a historic landmark along the way and a viewpoint at the destination.

The Cetina Gorge and its activities

The Cetina Gorge is considered a protected landscape of special significance. Activities associated with it include hiking, sightseeing boat trips on the river, ziplining, canyoning, kayaking and rafting. Medieval fortresses and Dalmatian cuisine are also among the gorge’s attractions. For a specific river activity, Cetina Raft offers a rafting trip on the Cetina lasting approximately three hours; the duration may vary depending on conditions. The ZIPLINE adventure park uses eight steel cables with a total length of 2,100 metres. Course details may change.

Regional cuisine and history

Kaštil Slanica is located at Franje Josipa 1 in Podašpilje–Omiš. The restaurant is situated on the site of a medieval salt market dating back to the 16th century. It serves homemade bread baked under a peka bell and traditional soparnik.
