Stanici is considered an old fishing settlement. The place can be viewed from different perspectives: along the coast, through its beaches and coves; above the newer part of the settlement, through the old village of Staro selo; and in connection with the mountains, through the summit of Kula. When planning your stay, it is worth distinguishing between these highlights. Access varies from beach to beach; the old village and the summit appeal to different interests than a day by the water.

Coastal Areas and Coves

The coastal features of Stanici include long pebble beaches and the well-known bay of Velika Luka. Mala Luka lies at the western end of Stanici, between Nemira and Balića rat. These different geographical references help distinguish the coves when planning: Mala Luka can be identified by its location between the places mentioned, while Velika Luka is described as a well-known bay. When planning your beach visits, the place names can serve as specific reference points.

Beach Character and Summer Sunlight

The western beach in Mala Luka has shallow water and small pebbles, and is considered suitable for families with young children and babies. In summer, you can enjoy the sun at Stanici beach until almost 9 p.m. These are two different points: the information about the water and pebbles concerns a particular stretch of beach, while the information about sunshine describes Stanici beach in summer. Depending on your interests, you can therefore take either the characteristics of a beach or the summer daylight hours into account when planning.

Comparing Beach Access

From Nemira and Stanici, you can reach the western beach in Mala Luka on foot or by car. Tice, on the other hand, is accessible only on foot. As local paths may change, check the condition of the footpath before your visit. Velika Luka beach is accessible by car; check the current access conditions before setting out. Access therefore differs considerably: reaching Tice requires a walk, while the beaches in Mala Luka and Velika Luka are also described as accessible by car. You can take the type of access into account when choosing which beach to visit.

Staro selo Above the Newer Part of the Settlement

Staro selo Stanići lies above the newer part of the settlement, where old stone houses have been preserved. These houses are about 300 metres as the crow flies from the sea. The old village adds a distinct area to the coastal side of Stanici: the preserved stone houses and their location above the newer part of the settlement are the focus here. The approximate straight-line distance also puts the houses in relation to the sea and helps indicate their location.

Kula and the Old Roman Road

Kula lies above Stanici and, at 864 metres, is the highest summit of Omiška Dinara. A report dated March 2, 2015, described the Stanići (Čelina) – Lokva Rogoznica (Gorica) route as a walkable old Roman road for people looking to experience a combination of sea and mountain landscapes. Check the current condition of the path before setting out. The summit and the route offer different points of interest: Kula is defined by its elevation and status, while the route focuses on the path and the experience of sea and mountain landscapes. You can distinguish between these two mountain-related features according to your interests and take the time-limited information about the route's condition into account when planning your trip.
