Brydegård combines coastal meadows and beaches with traces of nature and culture on Feddet. If you are looking for a hotel for a trip to Brydegård, you can choose your destination based on your interests in the water, nature and architectural history.

Coastal meadow and beach

Brydegaard Fed is a coastal meadow covering just under 75 hectares, rich in natural features, and stretches between Helnæs and Aa Strand. At the beach by Feddet, near the off-leash dog forest, the water is shallow; the beach and seabed are mostly sandy. Brydegaard Strand is a popular bathing beach used by locals and visitors. The coastal meadow and beaches represent different aspects of a stay by the water: landscape, natural features and swimming.

Water and nature

Kayaking takes place in the coastal and natural area near Brydegaard, on Helnæsbugten by Lillebælt. There are two boat-launching sites on Feddet. The kayaking area and boat-launching sites are specific points of reference if you are interested in water sports and coastal activities when choosing a destination. Feddet is an open visitor area throughout the year and is of great local importance. Feddet provides a habitat for the red-listed butterfly species Grøn Køllesværmer (VU – vulnerable), Seksplettet Køllesværmer (NT) and Okkergul Pletvinge (VU – vulnerable). The off-leash dog forest on Feddet is not fenced. Visitors should bear in mind that it is unfenced. Two of the three species are classified as vulnerable.

Culture and history

Brydegård at Brydegaardsvej 10 is a listed building. The listed complex comprises a main residence, a stone house dating from around 1800, a gatehouse, two farm buildings dating from around 1890, and a forge dating from around 1850; it was listed in 1992. The different dates of the buildings give each part of the ensemble its own historical context.

Oldtidsvejen is a protected archaeological site in the northeastern part of section 91a and consists of remains of the old road from Helnæs to Hagenskov. Feddet was the route of a historic church path connecting Brydegård and Aa. There is an old gallows site with a tar cauldron on Feddet, used by fishermen from Brydegård and Brunshuse. These traces represent different cultural connections: road remains, a historic route and a site associated with fishing.
