Korinth brings together industrial history and Cistercian heritage with nature. The Korinth Sawmill, Brahetrolleborg Church and Castle, audio stories, the Ringe–Korinth Nature Trail and the Rhododendron Park offer a range of different highlights. If you’re looking for a hotel in Korinth, start by considering your travel interests: are you more interested in industrial heritage and historic buildings, local history told through stories, or nature trails? The places below bring these themes to life and give you concrete points to help plan your stay.

Industrial History at the Korinth Sawmill

The Korinth Sawmill was built in 1900 and rebuilt after a fire in 1916. It is considered a classic example of red-brick industrial architecture from around 1900, and its original function has been preserved. Its architectural classification says more than when it was built: it also points to the sawmill’s architectural style and industrial purpose. For travelers interested in industrial heritage, it offers a tangible connection to Korinth’s history.

Church, Station and Historic Spanget

Korinth’s architectural history spans different roles and eras. Korinth Kro became a royally privileged inn in 1801, and the station building dates from 1882. The old granite bridge over the Silke Å has been uncovered and can be visited. Spanget is a historic district of Korinth, where several buildings near a bridge are listed. Brahetrolleborg Church and Castle are now considered one of the best-preserved Cistercian monastery complexes in the North. Brahetrolleborg Church is open to visitors daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except when church services or other religious ceremonies are taking place. Chronologically, the sites range from the inn’s royal privilege in 1801 and the station building of 1882 to the sawmill, built in 1900 and rebuilt in 1916.

Two Paths Through Korinth’s Stories

Korinth’s Stories is an audio experience with two routes: the Culture Trail and the Nature Trail. The Culture Trail features 16 stories about monks, factories, the power of the counts and farmers’ lives. The Nature Trail offers four audio stories about Korinth’s natural surroundings. The two trails differ both in subject and in the number of stories: cultural history and social life on one hand, and nature on the other. This lets you choose the focus of the audio experience to suit your interests.

Nature Trails and the Rhododendron Park

The Ringe–Korinth Nature Trail is 16 kilometers long and accessible from the station area in Korinth. Its length and named access point make it easy to include the trail as a separate activity in your plans. The Rhododendron Park also offers a distinctive natural setting: the entrance is via Spanget in Korinth, and the rhododendron trees in the park are now more than 100 years old. These offer two different highlights: a route with a stated length and access point, and a park with more than a century of growth.
