Emmerbølle Beach lies on the west coast in the north of Langeland, overlooking the Langeland Belt. The coast, a marked trail section and the Bøllejagt offer different perspectives for planning a trip: from the beach area at Emmerbølle to exploring the entire island. If you are looking for a hotel for a trip to Emmerbølle, these differences can help you choose the focus of your stay.

Beach and bathing spots

The beach stretches for 400 metres along the west coast and is 20 metres wide. The 400 metres describe its length along the water, while the 20 metres describe the width of the beach. Together, these measurements give a concrete idea of the size of the named beach.

There are two large bathing jetties at Emmerbølle Beach; one of them has a ramp for people with disabilities. Since 31 August 2026, there has also been a designated disabled parking space there.

Coastal path and exploration

The marked section “Øhavsstien - 16” runs along the coast past Emmerbølle Strandcamping. The campsite is located right on the coast in the north of Langeland. The route and the campsite’s location are different points of reference: the marking identifies the coastal section, while the campsite pinpoints a specific coastal location.

At Feriepark Langeland near Emmerbølle, both camping guests and other visitors to the area can rent bicycles. The rental service is therefore not exclusively for camping guests. If you would like to include bicycles in your plans, check availability before your trip.

The Bøllejagt broadens the focus beyond Emmerbølle: it invites you to explore Langeland and find the island’s 15 “Bøller”. The “Bøller” you visit are connected by dots on a map and then checked off. This way, the map records the destinations you have visited, and checking them off becomes part of the activity. In scale, the Bøllejagt differs from the “Øhavsstien - 16” section: it covers the whole island, while the marked trail passes along the coast at Emmerbølle.

History in Emmerbølle

Two different historical connections are associated with Emmerbølle. There was a noble manor there, after which Anders Clausen (Ulfeldt) named himself from 1476 to 1479. Emmerbøllegård was mentioned as a tenant farm in 1605. The dates can be read as a sequence: the name adopted in the late 15th century alongside the later mention of the tenant farm in 1605. The nature of the historical connections also differs: the first concerns a person taking a name from a manor, while the second is the mention of a farm as a tenant farm.
