Beach and coastal forest
The beach in Faxe Ladeplads stretches from Faxe Ladeplads Harbour to the Faxe Ă… and has a bathing jetty. The named endpoints describe the stretch of beach; the jetty is a specific point of reference for spending time by the water. Directly along the coast, Strandskoven Sibirien connects forest and beach. Here you can explore the beach and the wooded coastal area as distinct landscape features. In Strandskoven Sibirien, you can also climb up and down the embankment or climb the many gnarled trees. These are different activities within the forest area. A parking area for Strandskoven Sibirien is 200 metres east of Vemmetoftevej 10.
Hiking route to StrandegĂĄrd Dyrehave
The Faxe Ladeplads–Strandegård Dyrehave hiking route starts in Faxe Ladeplads and is a detour from the Sjællandsleden. It leads to a coastal landscape near Strandegård Dyrehave, with views of Møns Klint and Stevns Klint. The route therefore connects a starting point in Faxe Ladeplads with a destination area offering views of both cliffs. If you want to plan your trip around a specific excursion destination, this route is a separate option alongside the beach and Strandskoven Sibirien.
Local history and architecture
Since the late 19th century, Faxe Ladeplads has attracted visitors seeking to relax, take a holiday and unwind. The town’s history as a holiday destination therefore dates back to this period. The Faxe Ladeplads Miniby and Park offers a depiction of the town in earlier times: it shows Faxe Ladeplads as it was between 1900 and 1920, at a scale of 1:10. This means that one centimetre on the model corresponds to ten centimetres in reality. You can thus view the townscape of this period as a scaled-down representation. The site also has an 18-hole mini-golf course. Miniature history and mini golf are two distinct features to consider when choosing what to do during your stay.
Hylleholt Kirke offers another historical and architectural point of reference. It was built from 1875 to 1878 in the English Neo-Gothic style; its spire is 39 metres high. The church was therefore built before the period depicted by the Miniby. This brings together two clearly distinct perspectives on Faxe Ladeplads: the late 19th-century architecture of the church and the scaled-down townscape of 1900 to 1920. If you are interested in architectural history, the Neo-Gothic style offers a specific point of reference; the Miniby, by contrast, illustrates the later townscape.
