Dublovice: Culture, History and Nature
Accommodation in Dublovice
Anyone considering Dublovice as a destination for a stay will find several clearly distinct themes: a historic church complex, older transport routes, protected nature, and cycling and hiking routes. Dublovice is part of the Toulava tourist region.
Church and Historic Buildings
The Church of the Holy Trinity stands in Malá Strana, the southwestern part of Dublovice. Its complex includes an oval cemetery, an area enclosed by a massive stone wall with three entrances, a mortuary integrated into the perimeter wall, and the Empire-style family tomb of the Pistorius family. The ensemble therefore comprises not only the church, but also the cemetery, enclosure, and funerary architecture.
Farmstead No. 22 is located in the southern part of Dublovice, in the settlement area around the church, which is believed to be the oldest. Its gateway features Late Gothic forms and dates from no later than the 17th century. The location and the gateway’s form offer two distinct points of reference for exploring the history of buildings and settlement: the presumed early settlement area and the architectural classification of the gateway.
Historic Transport Routes
The history of transport routes is also among the town’s themes. The Prague–Bechyně road, one of the oldest transport routes in Slavic Bohemia, ran through the cadastral area of Dublovice. The Zrůbek–Sedlčany route was used to transport salt from the Vltava near Zrůbek to Sedlčany and beyond. These two historical connections highlight different aspects: the Prague–Bechyně road stands out for its status among old transport routes, while the Zrůbek–Sedlčany route is notable for its specific role in transporting salt.
Nature Reserve and MusĂk Pond
The Jezero Nature Reserve is located in the cadastral area of Dublovice and covers 7.09 hectares. It protects a pond with a rich abundance of rare and specially protected insects, amphibians, reptiles, and birds. The area is also an important bird-breeding site and supports the biodiversity of communities in the landscape. Jezero therefore focuses on both individual animal groups and the diversity of communities. For travelers with a particular interest in nature and species conservation, this is a clearly defined highlight.
MusĂk Pond has a water surface area of 49.9 hectares. The pond’s construction is attributed to the pond builder Jakub KrÄŤĂn z JelÄŤan a SedlÄŤan. While the water surface area provides a concrete measure of its size, the attribution points to the history of pond construction. MusĂk can thus be understood both through its landscape scale and its historical connection.
Cycling and Hiking Routes
Three specific routes are listed for cycling and hiking. The 4 km-long cycle route 8134 leads from Chlum near NalĹľovice via MusĂk Pond to Dublovice. Cycle route 8133 passes through Dublovice along the route SedlÄŤany – PĹ™ĂÄŤovy – Dublovice – Chramosty. A blue-marked hiking trail follows the route Skrýšov – ZrĹŻbek – ZvĂrotice – KĹ™epenice.
The routes offer different points of reference for planning a trip: cycle route 8134 has a stated length, while the other two routes are described by the sequence of places named. You can start by choosing whether a specific distance or place names are more useful to you as a guide. Together with the cultural, historical, and landscape themes, the routes offer another way to find the right fit for your travel interests in Dublovice.
