Vernerovice brings together several reasons to visit: the long-distance Stezka Českem trail passes through Vernéřovice, and the hiking route to Vernéřovická studánka combines a specific distance with a destination. Other highlights include the Baroque parish church, insights into farm life at Ekofarma Bošina, and a cycling route through the entire municipality. When looking for a hotel in Vernerovice, you can use these different activities as a guide for planning your trip.

Hiking on the long-distance trail and local paths

Stezka Českem passes through Vernéřovice; the village lies at kilometre 64 of the fifth section of the northern route. A sign marked “Stezka Českem” stands by the signpost near Vernéřovice Primary School. A red-marked hiking route leads to the upper end of the village and continues across fields to Vernéřovická studánka. The route to the spring is listed as 10 kilometres and easy.

The route also leads to meadows above Vernéřovice. From there, you can see the Broumovské stěny and the distinctive summit of Honský Špičák. For planning purposes, the two figures refer to different scales: the kilometre 64 marker locates Vernéřovice along a long-distance trail section, while the 10 kilometres describes the route to the spring. As trail markings can change, it is advisable to check the current route before setting out.

Church and rural architecture

The parish church of Kostel sv. Michaela, archanděla in Vernéřovice is a Baroque church. It was built between 1719 and 1720; the interior was completed in 1722. The construction and the completion of the interior therefore took place at different times. The church stands on a hill in the middle of the village cemetery, providing a precise reference point for its location in the village.

The route through Vernéřovice also passes preserved farmsteads and timber houses representing regional folk architecture. Together with the dated Baroque church, these examples offer insight into different forms of architectural heritage: sacred architecture on the one hand and rural building styles on the other.

Ekofarma Bošina: Farm visits and shop

Ekofarma Bošina is located in the municipality of Vernéřovice, within the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area. It is open to the public. Organised tours for adults provide an insight into farm operations, meat processing and animal husbandry. If you are planning a tour, check in advance for dates and the current arrangements for visits, as these may change.

Meat and other farm products are available directly at the farm shop without pre-ordering. As opening arrangements may change, it is a good idea to check before visiting.

Cycling in the municipality

The “Za poklady Broumovska II” cycling route passes through the entire municipality of Vernéřovice. Unlike the hiking route to Vernéřovická studánka, which specifies a destination and distance, it is described as running through the entire municipality. If you are choosing between a walk and a bike ride, the mode of travel and the area covered are two clear points of distinction.
