Mlečice offers several reasons to visit: a historic parish church, local events and countryside on the edge of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area. When planning your trip, you can consider whether you are most interested in the town’s history, a scheduled event or the countryside. The topics below offer practical guidance without focusing on any single occasion.

Church, monument and local history

The Church of the Holy Trinity has been a parish church since 1344. The Gothic building dates from the 14th century and was restored in a pseudo-Gothic style in 1896. A relief of Christ’s head is located above the portal. The construction date, later restoration and portal relief represent different aspects of the church’s history: the Gothic structure points to the Middle Ages, while the work of 1896 forms a later architectural layer.

The statue of the Virgin Mary of Svatá Hora is also part of local history. A copy of the statue was installed in Mlečice village square in June 1998. The original was probably made in the early 19th century. The approximate date when the statue was made and the date its copy was installed therefore refer to two different historical events. The village’s founding is dated to 1227.

For music lovers, Advent concerts in the church may provide an additional reason to plan a visit: they were announced for 2024 and 2025. Dates and performers may change. If you want to plan your trip around a concert, check the relevant details in advance.

Countryside and routes

Mlečice lies on the edge of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area. The municipality’s 2024 planning material described streams with frequently preserved waterside vegetation, as well as partly preserved valley floodplains in the Mlečice countryside. These features describe the area’s landscape setting: waterside vegetation and valleys shape it, as does its location on the edge of the protected area. The municipality’s 2024 planning material describes a route used in the Mlečice countryside that offers wide views.

Hikes and event dates

Mlečická ťapka is a recurring hiking event. Two routes were offered for its third edition, announced for 2025. Routes and dates may change. If you want to include the event in your travel plans, check the details for the relevant edition rather than assuming a particular route or a fixed date.

Group spring hikes to the Chapel of St. Vojtěch were announced for 2023 and 2025; their dates may also change. The two hiking events have different focuses: two routes were planned for the 2025 ťapka, while the announced spring hikes had the chapel as their destination. When choosing when to travel, you can therefore distinguish between an event with a choice of routes and an outing with a specified destination.

Another date of interest to event visitors is the DACHL CUP, a traditional Jawa motorcycle event in Mlečice. The event was listed for 2023 and 2024; dates and format may change. Together with the hikes and Advent concerts, it does not form a single unified event calendar, but rather a selection of different occasions. If a particular event is important to your hotel plans, check its date for the year in question.

Choosing Mlečice as a destination

Local history can be explored through the Church of the Holy Trinity, the statue in the village square and the recorded date of the village’s founding. Hiking events and the cycle route offer other points of interest, while streams, waterside vegetation and valley floodplains characterize the landscape. When choosing your stay, consider which of these topics matters most to you. This will help you choose Mlečice based on what is important for your trip, and then search for hotels for your stay.
