If you like to combine a hiking route with a distinctive viewpoint when choosing a travel destination, Náčkovice offers a specific starting point: the Uhelná Trail ends at Víťova Lookout near the village. There is also a Baroque chapel in Náčkovice and regional cultural attractions in the surrounding area. This gives you the option of choosing between scenic views, nature and history themes, and a single architectural landmark when planning your trip.

Uhelná Trail: Route and Themes

The Uhelná Trail is almost 4.5 kilometres long and has eight information stations. Its themes go beyond a single aspect of nature: the route shares information about the local Luční potok stream, introduces protected local plants and animals from the local fauna, and also covers the history of coal mining in the surrounding area. This mix helps you choose the route based on your interests: nature observation and landscape themes sit alongside the region’s economic and labour history. The route therefore focuses not only on the landscape, but also on nature and the history of human activity in the surrounding area.

Víťova Lookout with Panoramic Views

At the end of the route stands Víťova Lookout, a 21-metre-high observation tower. The viewing platform is 8.5 metres above the ground; the tower also has a viewing gallery with eight windows. From Víťova Lookout, you can enjoy panoramic views of České středohoří, Lužické hory, Krušné hory and Mount Sedlo. These details describe different aspects of the structure: the tower’s height refers to the entire construction, while the platform height refers to the viewpoint. The tower also combines a visitor attraction with technology in an unusual way: Víťova Lookout brings together an observation structure and a transmitter for mobile networks.

Chapel and Regional Cultural Attractions

The Chapel of Panny Marie Pomocné is in Náčkovice. This Baroque chapel has been protected as a cultural monument since 1958 and was restored in 2008. Nearby, the Minimuzeum Lovečkovice is housed in a former railway building on the Velké Březno–Úštěk line. The building was saved from demolition and reconstructed. Since 1 July 2021, the Municipality of Lovečkovice has no longer operated the Minimuzeum. Check what visitor options are currently available before travelling there. This lets you distinguish the building’s history from the question of whether it can be visited today. The nearby tourist area also includes the Zubrnický skanzen, an open-air museum of folk architecture in an inhabited village.

Return Journey and Trip Planning

On the return journey to Lovečkovice, you can shorten the Uhelná Trail by taking the bus from the Mukařov stop. Check current bus services before including this option in your return plans. When planning, you can take the different highlights into account: the viewpoint brings together the landscape experience, while the information stations cover nature and coal mining. The chapel and regional museums add architectural and folk architecture to these experiences.
