Anyone looking for a hotel for a trip to Miřejovice can use the landscape, cycling connections and local history as different focal points when planning. The municipality’s cadastral area lies within the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area. A named basalt cone, a cross-municipal educational trail and preserved buildings give visitors specific points of interest.

Landscape and trails

Plešivec, also known as Ledový vrch (Ice Mountain), is a wooded volcanic basalt cone. Both names refer to the same formation; Ledový vrch means “Ice Mountain.” The wooded cone provides a specific geological feature alongside the cadastral area’s location within the protected landscape area. This makes it possible to consider an individual landscape feature and the broader protected-area setting as two different ways of looking at the surroundings.

The educational trail “Naučná stezka skřítka Portáše – Porta Bohemica – Krajem pověstí a zážitků” connects all the municipalities in the microregion, including Miřejovice. It is 30 km long in total and has 16 stops. The total distance and number of stops provide different points of reference for planning; check the current trail markings before setting out.

Cycle Route 3058 runs from the Litoměřice-Knobloška junction east to Miřejovice, then north around the summit of Kamýk to the Babinské louky Natural Monument. In Velké Žernoseky, it branches off the Elbe Cycle Route 2 and connects with Cycle Route 3057 at Babinské louky. For the educational trail, the overall distance and stops are the main points of reference; for the cycle route, they are its course and connections. Check the signs and route numbers before riding; surface conditions may also change.

Local character and history

The only preserved listed monument in Miřejovice is a roadside cross, restored in 2008. If you plan a visit specifically to see the cross, check its current condition on site. Late Classicist brick houses from the second half of the 19th century have also been preserved. These offer two different traces of local history: a single listed monument and a traditional building style.

Until the 19th century, Miřejovice’s history was connected with Kamýk Castle. A historic road guarded by the castle ran from Litoměřice through Miřejovice, over the saddle between Plešivec and Bídnice, to Libochovany and onward to the national border. The saddle links the historic route to a specific landscape feature; from there, the road continued through other places to the national border.

Historically, farming in the area included fruit growing and viticulture. Pears, apples, plums and walnuts were grown.

Outdoor recreation

Miřejovice has a tennis court and a children’s playground for outdoor recreation. Check their current condition and public access before visiting. This lets you plan around the facilities available locally while keeping in mind that their condition and access on site are what matter.
