Mradice offers several points of interest to consider when planning a trip: the Chapel of the Fourteen Holy Helpers, the Ohře River, a fortification and the fourth stage of the Ohře Cycle Route. If you are looking for a hotel here, start with Mradice as your destination and compare offers according to your own reason for travelling. This lets you decide in advance whether local history, the setting on the Ohře or a cycling stage is most important to your plans.

Chapel and local history

The Chapel of the Fourteen Holy Helpers is a historic landmark in Mradice; a municipal visitor description from 2013 identifies it as such. It was restored and consecrated in 2001. This brings together its historical significance and a precisely dated event in its more recent history. If religious buildings are important when choosing a destination, the chapel offers a clearly defined local point of interest.

The Ohře, the mill and the fortification

The Ohře separates Mradice from Levonice and is a defining feature of the local landscape. The Mradice mill is also located on the Ohře, in the cadastral area of Mradice. Flour is no longer milled there; a small hydroelectric plant is in operation. If you are specifically interested in the mill and how it is used, check its operating information again before making a visit specifically to see it.

About 500 metres west of the settlement of Mradice, outside the built-up area, the permanent light fortification SLO VEČ 10074, type A-120Z, is located on the bank of the Ohře beside the road between Mradice and Strkovice. The structure is associated with land parcel st.p.č. 137, measuring 102 m². Its western location, riverside position and proximity to the road provide specific points of reference for locating it in the area. If you are planning to visit the fortification, check access in advance.

Getting there and finding your way

From Postoloprty, Mradice can be reached via roads 2501 and 225038 through Skupice; the distance is about 6 kilometres. Mradice is also close to the major road II/225, which connects Žatec and Louny. These are two distinct local references for planning your journey: the named road connection via Skupice and the nearby road between Žatec and Louny. When descending the serpentine road from the east, the tower of Zámek Mradice is visible. This sightline applies to that specific section.

Mradice on the Ohře Cycle Route

The fourth stage of the Ohře Cycle Route passes through Mradice at kilometre 45.9. This is a specific point of reference if you are planning a trip that includes the cycle route: the kilometre marker indicates the town’s position on this stage. If you are planning to include Mradice in a cycling trip, check the current route before setting off, as route conditions can change. This lets you take the cycling connection into account when choosing a destination, alongside local cultural and landscape features.
