Discover Chrtníč
Accommodation in Chrtníč
Chrtníč offers several distinct points of interest for your trip: the Radinovka divides the village, its history leads to the former village of Radinov, and the C2 farm track provides access to local destinations. Regular community events and Sunday services listed by season are also part of the picture. Landscape, local history, and specific dates are separate aspects that you can consider individually when planning your stay.
Landscape and Water
The Radinovka stream divides Chrtníč into two parts. It is also a right-bank tributary of the Sázavka River. The same stream thus describes both the layout of the village and its connection to the named watercourse. Of the total area of 661 hectares, 150 hectares are forested, or just under 23 percent. This figure complements the village’s division by water with the municipality’s share of woodland, providing a second perspective on the landscape of Chrtníč.
Local History in Chrtníč and Radinov
Chrtníč was founded at the beginning of the 14th century as part of the colonization activities of Vilémov Monastery. The first written mention of the village dates from 1391 and appears in the land registers. Its origins place Chrtníč within the context of monastic colonization, while 1391 marks the date of its first written mention.
Radinov (Radoňov) was originally a village with a fortress and a rectory. The Church of St. Bartholomew has survived at the site of the former village. The early Gothic church was dedicated to St. Bartholomew around 1250. Its dedication around 1250 predates the founding of Chrtníč at the beginning of the 14th century. The church’s history in Radinov and the founding of Chrtníč can therefore be considered separate historical points of reference. The description “early Gothic” adds a stylistic classification to the approximate date of dedication.
The C2 Farm Track as a Guide
The C2 farm track is just under one kilometer long and begins in the built-up area of the municipality of Chrtníč. It provides access to the surrounding agricultural land, the hamlet of Radinov, and the Church of St. Bartholomew with its local cemetery. The route description identifies both the starting point and a range of destinations: agricultural land, a hamlet, and a historic site with a cemetery. If you include the farm track in your plans, bear in mind that local surface conditions may change, and check the path conditions before your visit.
Community Events and Church Services
Regular community events in Chrtníč include balls, a Masopust carnival parade, and the raising of a maypole. If you would like to plan your trip around one of these occasions, check the specific date in advance. This will let you arrange your stay around an actual event date rather than assuming that a regular event takes place on a particular day.
For Sunday services at the branch church of St. Bartholomew, the information updated on March 24, 2026, lists 3:00 p.m. in winter and 4:00 p.m. in summer. Check the times with the parish before your visit. The seasonal times can therefore serve as a useful starting point for planning without relying on information that may not have been verified.
