Radzovce can be explored from several specific perspectives: the landscape of the Cerová vrchovina, volcanic formations and archaeological traces sit alongside historic buildings. When planning your trip, you can first decide whether to focus mainly on nature and geological history, or on archaeology and architectural history.

Landscape and volcanic formations

Radzovce lies in the Cerová vrchovina Protected Landscape Area, on the floodplain and terrace of the Belina stream. The area consists of Upper Tertiary sediments as well as volcanic tuffites and basalts. The Monická Forest-Steppe is also a protected area in Radzovce.

Monosa is a 584-metre-high volcanic cinder cone visible from the surrounding area. A four-kilometre-long lava flow extends northwest from Monosa. Weathered rocks at the western edge of the lava flow offer views of the Monosa Valley and the settlement of Obručná. A lookout tower offers panoramic views of Mount Karanč and the municipalities of Čakanovce and Radzovce. The viewpoints differ: weathered rocks at the western edge of the lava flow offer views of the Monosa Valley and the settlement of Obručná; from the lookout tower, the panoramic view extends to Mount Karanč and the municipalities of Čakanovce and Radzovce.

Archaeology and remembrance

The archaeological site in Radzovce includes a cremation burial ground with 1,334 graves. It also contains traces of a Bronze Age settlement associated with the Piliny and Kyjatice cultures. A temporary exhibition about the site is on display at the cultural history museum in Radzovce. As this is a temporary exhibition, check locally before your visit to confirm that it is available.

A monument in Obručná commemorates the people killed there during a partisan battle in 1944.
