Most pri Bratislave combines a landscape shaped by gravel extraction and water with churches, monuments and the history of the Studené district. If you are looking for a destination where nature and culture both play a part, you will find a variety of things to explore here. The lakes differ in how they are used, while the buildings range from historic features to places of remembrance.

Lakes, alluvial forests and water

The three lakes of Zelené jazerá were formed from former gravel extraction sites left behind after the regulation of the Malý Dunaj. Together, they cover 17.6 hectares. All three lakes are fishing waters; two are also used for recreation and sport. If you are interested in fishing, this activity is available at all three lakes, while recreation and sport are limited to two.

Zelená voda is a lake formed by gravel extraction and surrounded by rare alluvial forests. The lake is used for fishing and hiking; local conditions may change. Along the Malý Dunaj, within the municipality of Most pri Bratislave, there are also remnants of alluvial forests that form secluded natural spots. The Blatina Canal flows into the Malý Dunaj within the municipality and is considered a paradise for anglers. Thus, in addition to the lakes, river floodplains and a fishing area along the canal offer different aspects of the waterscape.

Cycling in and around Most pri Bratislave

For cyclists, two details should be distinguished. The 12.1 km road cycling route Vrakuňa–Most pri Bratislave–Malinovo–Tomášov passes through Most pri Bratislave; the distance refers to the entire named route. There is also a cycling connection between Most pri Bratislave and the district of Studené. Conditions may change, so check them before setting out. This allows you to distinguish the named inter-municipal route with its stated total distance from the connection between the two districts.

Churches and monuments

The Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (Kostol Najsvätejšieho Srdca Ježišovho) preserves damaged Gothic frescoes and a stone baptismal font from the 14th century. The font is still used in the new church. The presbytery may date back to a 13th-century chapel that was enlarged in the Early Gothic style around the turn of the 14th century. The church also has exceptionally rare stone ciboria. It is listed under reference ÚZPF 494/0.

The Church of the Divine Heart of Jesus (Kostol Božského Srdca Ježišovho) has preserved stone canopies found nowhere else in Slovakia. The monument to Milan Rastislav Štefánik was erected in 1923 at the site of the plane crash; its architect was Dušan Jurkovič. A list published by the Ministry of Culture on 31 July 2017 records the monument as a national cultural monument under reference 2080/1. In the church garden, the monument to the victims of the First World War names 43 victims.

Smaller structures also add to the picture of the area's history. The Božia muka near the agricultural cooperative was built in the Neoclassical style around the turn of the 19th century. In the settlement of Studené stands a manor house with a layered historical record. The Hideghétiovci family probably built it in the 17th century as a single-storey Renaissance building. According to another account, it was originally a monastery, which Ján Balassa converted into a Neoclassical manor house and extended with an additional storey in the early 19th century. A remnant of a natural park dating from the first half of the 19th century has been preserved next to the manor house.
