A stay in Dunajska Streda can be planned around a range of interests: the thermal park, prehistoric and folk culture topics, contemporary art, regional produce or outdoor activities. Conditions also vary: the slide tower and ice rink operate seasonally.

Thermal Park and Pools

The Dunajská Streda Thermal Park covers 18 hectares and has four indoor and six outdoor pools. The layout of the facility may change, so check the operator’s latest information before your visit. The thermal park also has a slide tower with seven slides. It operates seasonally. If you would like to use it during your trip, check in advance whether it will be open at that time.

Museum, Folk Culture and Workshops

The permanent exhibition of the Žitnoostrovské Museum features prehistoric archaeological and paleontological finds from the Dunajská Streda district. It thus brings together two different types of finds within one exhibition theme. The folk-culture farmhouse kitchen, with its traditional furnishings and open hearth, offers a different perspective: here, a specific room and its furnishings take centre stage.

The exhibition pavilion has space for creative workshops and demonstrations of work by folk artists and craftspeople. The activities available during your visit may vary. If you are making specific plans, check the programme and, before visiting the museum, check the latest visitor information as well.

Art and City History

The Vermesova vila is now home to a gallery of contemporary Hungarian artists. The Roman Catholic Church of St. George is considered the oldest historical and ecclesiastical monument in the town of Dunajská Streda. The subjects therefore offer different points of focus: prehistoric finds and folk culture in the museum, contemporary Hungarian art in the gallery, and ecclesiastical and historical heritage at the church. You can make your choice according to which of these subjects interests you most during your stay.

Market in the Ružový háj Residential Area

A market in the Ružový háj residential area offers fruit, vegetables, eggs, honey and flowers from local producers. Its range extends from food to flowers, adding a different focus to the cultural offerings. If you would like to include regional produce in your plans as well as sightseeing, the market is a destination in its own right.

Cycling, Running and the Seasonal Ice Rink

A cycling route runs from Dunajská Streda via Malé Dvorníky to Dunajský Klátov. It follows a cycle path and a forest road. For planning, the route’s direction is not the only relevant factor: it includes two different types of surface. In the Sever II residential area, the public park has a rubber-surfaced running track for recreational sports. Those who would rather use a running track than a cycling route will find another way to be active here.

The artificial ice rink operates seasonally and is intended for families with children, young people, schools and the general public. Plan your visit around its operating period and check whether the season coincides with your travel dates.
