When looking for a hotel in Trebatice, the landscape, archaeological traces, and local cultural and sporting attractions can help with planning your trip. The town brings together a range of points of interest: from finds dating back to distant eras and sacred buildings to the go-kart track and local festivals. Which of these matters to your stay depends on your own interests.

Landscape and Local History

Trebatice lies where the northern foothills of the Trnava Hills meet the Váh foothills of the Danubian Lowland, on a terrace of the Dudváh. Its location therefore places it at the boundary of two differently named geographical regions. If you also consider a destination’s geographical setting when choosing where to travel, Trebatice offers a specific point of reference: it lies not just in one of the two regions mentioned, but right where they meet.

Archaeological Traces and Sacred Buildings

The archaeological evidence dates back to the Upper Paleolithic and includes mammoth bones. Remains of a cult object from the Late Bronze Age belong to a much later period. These include fragments of the sculpted, ornamented gable of a building. This detail draws attention not only to the age of the finds, but also to the design of a building. Together, the different types of finds show that Trebatice’s history spans several periods separated by long stretches of time.

A notable sacred building is the Roman Catholic Church of St. Stephen the King, a Neoclassical church dating from 1851. The main altar and pulpit date from the time the church was built, so the year of construction also provides a date for these two furnishings. The cemetery chapel of St. Stephen the King is another small sacred monument that forms part of the townscape. The church and chapel offer different points of interest for anyone interested in religious buildings and their place in local history.

Cabbage-Growing Traditions and Local Festivities

In 1753, the people of Trebatice were mentioned as cabbage growers and were consequently given the local nickname “kapustári.” The name preserves a connection to agriculture in local history. Kapustnica, a Slovak cabbage soup, is also associated with a specific event: a microregion cooking competition for this dish was held at Kapustové hody on September 9, 2023. The nickname and the cooking competition highlight different aspects: one refers to the residents’ former occupation, while the other focuses on preparing a regional dish.

Go-Kart Track and Sports Facilities

Trebatice’s go-kart track was built on the site of a former brickyard, which was later used as a municipal landfill. Today, the track offers go-kart rentals and hosts official kart races in the MSR, Open Cup, and Moravský pohár. Rentals and the race schedule may change. If you plan to travel to Trebatice to go go-karting or attend a race, check before your visit whether the activity is available or scheduled for your dates.

Areál zdravia is Trebatice’s multipurpose sports and community center and has been in use since 2007. Športové centrum Trebatice is another sports facility for visitors. It is located at Piešťanská 555/12, 922 10 Trebatice, and offers online reservations. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 21:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 07:00 to 20:00. Opening details may change, so check the hours and reservation options before your visit.

Hody Trebatice

Hody Trebatice combines musical performances with other events. One edition took place on August 15 and 16, 2025, at AMK. In addition to musical performances, the 2026 edition included traditional amusement rides, refreshment stalls, and craft demonstrations. This gives an idea of the festival’s range; the program may change in future editions. If you are planning a stay around Hody Trebatice, check the date and program for the relevant edition before planning your trip.
