Chorey combines historic buildings with wine experiences and excursions along the Route des Grands Crus. When planning your stay, you can choose from different points of interest: the architectural history of Église Saint-Luc, the architecture of Château de Chorey, or wine tastings. A moped excursion adds a ride along the Route des Grands Crus to these options.

The architectural history of Église Saint-Luc

Église Saint-Luc in Chorey-lès-Beaune has been documented since 1150. The present building originated from the enlargement of a small chapel that formerly faced east; traces of it can be seen in the eastern arm of the transept. The enlargement began in 1766: the former chapel became the transept arm, and the nave was built perpendicular to it. The floor plan follows a Latin cross. The choir contains a high altar dating from the 1770s, attributed to the Bidermann brothers. The two dates have different roles: 1150 is the year from which the church is documented; 1766 marks the start of the enlargement.

Château de Chorey

Château de Chorey is listed among the sights and places to visit in the Pays Beaunois. Check access before visiting. The buildings are situated in the west of the large grounds and are partly surrounded by water-filled moats. To the east is a landscaped garden surrounded by vines. The complex comprises an L-shaped main building, two detached towers and a dovecote. The layout can thus be understood through its buildings and the different design of the grounds.

Wine tastings and local production

Cave du Bareuzai offers a selection of wines by the glass on the terrace or in the cellar. Tastings by reservation include boards of regional charcuterie and/or cheese. Group tastings include a detailed explanation of the wines being tasted and a presentation of the wine-growing landscape designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The formats therefore range from a selection by the glass to a group program with explanations of the wine and landscape. If you plan a tasting with boards or a group program, confirm the reservation and program in advance.

Domaine Fernandez produces Chorey-les-Beaune as a red wine; tastings and direct sales at the estate are available on site. While Cave du Bareuzai offers tastings by the glass and group formats, Domaine Fernandez focuses on its red wine, with tastings and sales at the estate. Confirm arrangements before arrival; product availability may change.

An excursion along the Route des Grands Crus

Les Mobylettes de Chorey offers excursions along the Route des Grands Crus. Guests follow routes put together by Marc. Unlike visits focused on a church, château or tasting, this experience centers on the ride along the route. If you plan this activity, confirm availability before your trip.
