Bourbon-Lancy: Old Town, Culture and Nature
Accommodation in Bourbon-Lancy
Bourbon-Lancy offers a range of things to explore during a stay: medieval architecture, a museum, natural areas, paths, recreational facilities and thermal leisure areas. Each has its own character. Whether you are interested in history, art, nature or physical activity, you will find a variety of themes here to help plan your trip.
Old Town and Museum
The old town of Bourbon-Lancy was built in the Middle Ages. The preserved medieval quarter is home to picturesque half-timbered houses. The Beffroi is listed as a historic monument. The heritage therefore includes both an entire quarter and an individual building listed as a monument.
The Musée Saint-Nazaire is located in the Romanesque church of Saint-Nazaire and holds the “Musée de France” designation. Its collections include archaeology, fine arts and contemporary art. The museum has more than 300 works, which are shown in rotating temporary exhibitions. As the displays change, check the current exhibition information when planning a visit focused on a particular collection area. The subject matter ranges from archaeology to contemporary art.
Natural Areas and Paths
Since 2024, the Petit Fleury site has held the “Espace Naturel Sensible” designation awarded by the Saône-et-Loire Department. It offers educational nature activities and a discovery trail. The trail makes the site accessible to everyone in a fun way. The Department’s designation is thus combined with an educational experience on site.
The ForĂŞt de Germigny has slopes, a variety of forest types, streams and dry clearings. A loop trail marked by the municipality is permanently open to mountain bikers and hikers. Bourbon-Lancy is also a stage town on EuroVelo 6, which connects Nantes with Budapest. The long-distance route and the forest loop are different options to consider when planning your trip. Signage and trail conditions may change, so check them before setting out.
Leisure and Seasonal Activities
The paths around the lake in Parc Roger Luquet invite pedestrians and cyclists to explore different neighborhoods of Bourbon-Lancy. The park also has a playground, two water slides, a fitness trail with 11 stations, a skatepark and a pump track. Paths for exploring the neighborhoods sit alongside other recreational facilities. Individual facilities may be updated. If a particular one is important to your plans, check its current status.
CeltÔ’s thermal leisure areas include thermal water pools, massage jets, a sauna, a hammam, experience showers and a CeltÔrium. During the summer season, free concerts by local singers and music groups take place every Sunday in Parc Thermal. The concerts are therefore tied to the summer season and Sundays. If you are planning a specific summer trip, check the event dates, as they and the performers may change.
