Vineuil can be explored through several different highlights: circular walks, the building history of Saint-Martin, waterside leisure and a Sunday market each offer something different. If you are planning a stay here, you can shape your days around your preferred mix of activity, local history and relaxation.

Circular walks and landscape

The two circular walks offer different distances to help with your planning. The Circuit 1 du Cosson walking trail is 9.4 km long, with an estimated walking time of 3 hours and 10 minutes. The “Le Viaduc – Les Noëls de Vineuil” circular walk is 5.6 km long and starts in Vineuil. By distance, it is the shorter of the two routes; Circuit 1 is 3.8 km longer. You can therefore make your choice based first on the distance you want to cover, and also take into account Circuit 1’s estimated walking time.

The Ponts-Chartrains lie in the Cosson Valley on the border with Saint-Gervais-la-Forêt. This adds a distinct valley landscape to the specific route details.

Culture and events

Les Greniers de Vineuil offers courses and workshops on crafts, transition and well-being. Individual events may vary. If you have a particular date in mind, check the current programme.

The Marché de Vineuil takes place on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the square in front of the town hall, during the period from 2 January to 31 December 2026. If your stay falls outside this period, check the current schedule before making firm plans to visit the market. The market therefore follows a regular weekly schedule during this period, while individual workshop dates may change.

Church of Saint-Martin

The oldest part of the Church of Saint-Martin dates from the late 12th century. The church was partially rebuilt in the 16th century, and in the mid-19th century it was given a pseudo-Gothic façade bell tower. This sequence spans the medieval structure, a later rebuilding and the 19th-century design. For those interested in cultural history, it offers a clear line of development, with several distinct building phases. If you would like to visit the church, check access separately before making firm plans.

Waterside spots

The Fosse carrée is a water basin created in 1838 in Parc de Feuillarde. Local residents use it for fishing and walking. This combination of a historic feature and everyday local use sets it apart from the Fosse de Pimpeneau, an important fishing spot in the region. If you plan to visit the Fosse carrée, check the information on current facilities on site.

Lac de Loire is a leisure complex with a seasonal swimming pool. The pool is seasonal, so check whether it will be open during your travel dates. Alongside the water basins and the various walking routes, Vineuil offers a choice of activities, local history and leisure options, with the timing of each visit potentially making a difference.
