Mont-Le-Vignoble combines wine-growing with trails that pass through the village and the surrounding villages. The commune is one of the eight communes in the AOC Côtes de Toul. This gives you two clear areas to focus on when planning your trip: the wine-growing landscape and its tasting opportunities, and trails to explore on foot, by bicycle or by car.

Wine Route and Regional Wines

The Route Touristique des Côtes de Toul passes through Mont-Le-Vignoble and seven other villages. Its 20-kilometre route runs from north to south around Toul. You can explore the route on foot, by bicycle or by car. Before setting out, check the relevant route conditions and local access arrangements.

Along the route, you can visit wineries and their cellars and take part in tastings. Wines include the local “gris” de Toul, Pinot noir and some white wines. Access to individual wineries may vary, so contact the winery directly before planning a visit. The Coopérative des Vignerons du Toulois is located at 43 place de la Mairie, 54113 Mont-Le-Vignoble. If you plan to visit, check the address and accessibility in advance.

Hiking and Trails in the Village

The Circuit de Saint-Fiacre starts at Mont-Le-Vignoble town hall. In the village, the trail follows Rue de l’église and passes a monument and the cooperative. These landmarks can help you find your way along the route. Before setting out, check the signposting and trail conditions.

Another connection is Liaison 14 et 9, which links Gye with Mont-Le-Vignoble. The routes offer different points of reference for planning: the Touristique des Côtes de Toul is described as a 20-kilometre route through several villages, while the Circuit de Saint-Fiacre starts right at the town hall and passes landmarks in the village. You can choose a route according to whether you are looking for a route through several villages or a trail that starts in the town centre.

The Côtes de Toul Landscape

The RD11 runs along the hillside in Mont-Le-Vignoble and offers panoramic views over the Côtes de Toul. The AOC vineyards are also part of a distinctive landscape: across the wider wine-growing area, they lie on south- and south-east-facing clay-limestone slopes above the Moselle Valley. Together with the village’s membership of the AOC, this landscape makes the wine route a natural focus for trip planning. The slopes described are those of the Côtes de Toul wine-growing area.

Art and Historic Sights

Mont-Le-Vignoble church houses the listed sculptural group “Vierge de Pitié” and the listed statue “Christ en croix”. Before visiting, check whether the church and the artworks are accessible and on view. This lets you plan a visit to the church without assuming access is guaranteed.

A post published in 2022 reported that the restored 18th-century wayside cross had been returned to the corner of Rue des Marcottes and Rue de l’Eglise. The village trails also pass the monument. Together, these offer several cultural landmarks that contrast with the route’s landscape highlights.
