Pierre-Percée is a destination for travelers who want to include nature, outdoor activities, and culture in their plans. Lake Pierre-Percée covers more than 300 hectares. There are also hiking trails, waterside activities, and historic sites. You can tailor your stay to suit your interests, focusing on trails, lake activities, or history.

Hiking, Water, and Outdoor Activities

The Circuit pédestre - Les deux lacs hiking loop starts at the Pierre-Percée dam car park. It leads through the forest, follows blue markers, and returns to the dam. In addition, numerous hiking trails run for almost 35 kilometers around Lake Pierre-Percée, which you can explore on foot or by mountain bike. The loop, with its named starting point, and the wider selection of trails offer different options for planning your outings.

Aventure Parc offers adventure courses and activities for beginners and experienced participants of all ages. Eligibility requirements may vary by activity. If you choose a particular activity, check the rules that apply to it.

On the shores of Lake Pierre-Percée, Pôle Canoë rents out canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards. Rentals are seasonal, so check in advance when they are available. Fishing is also possible, either from the shore or from non-motorized boats. Applicable permit rules must be followed.

Recreation Area and Swimming Notice

Pôle Sports Nature at the Lac de la Plaine recreation area has a children’s playground, a beach, and picnic areas. Swimming is a separate matter: since 2024, there has no longer been a supervised swimming area there. Swimming is therefore prohibited throughout the season.

Exhibitions and History

The Centre d’Interprétation 1914–1918 focuses on the First World War. Its extensive collection includes weapons, uniforms, equipment, and documents. Alongside permanent exhibitions, it hosts temporary exhibitions, cultural events, and conferences. This gives you different ways to explore the subject: you can look at the collection items and documents or include an event in your plans. If a particular date is important for your trip, check the event dates in advance.

The Château de Pierre-Percée consists of the ruins of a medieval castle on a ridge characterized by pink sandstone cliffs. From there, you can see the village of Pierre-Percée and the lower part of the lake. The Salm family took possession of the château at the beginning of the 12th century. Access is closed for the entire duration of the consolidation work. Take this closure into account when planning your visits. The Centre d’Interprétation focuses on the First World War; the castle ruins evoke the Middle Ages.
