Quins offers you a range of ways to enjoy a stay: far-reaching views across the Ségala valleys, historic sites and activities with their own time or access conditions.

Views and Heritage

From the Table d’orientation de Lugan, the view stretches across the Ségala valleys and takes in several picturesque villages, including Quins, Sauveterre de Rouergue, Gramond and Naucelle. The viewpoint therefore combines views of the landscape with views of named places in the surrounding area.

The historic and archaeological site of Jalenques includes castle ruins, several houses, a bread oven and other traces of the past. From a car park on the D524, a footpath of around 500 metres leads to the site. Allow approximately one to one and a half hours for a visit. Group visits for 10 to 30 people can be arranged by prior appointment. When planning, you can take the access route and approximate visit duration into account as practical timing information.

The Chapelle Saint-Vincent de Lugan is a Romanesque chapel that has been restored several times. The years given for the restorations are 1643 and 1960. The “Reconstitution d’une épicerie d’antan” offers a different glimpse into the past: a collection of 20th-century household objects creates a vintage atmosphere. While the focus at Jalenques is on ruins and architectural traces, here it is on everyday objects.

The annual “Fête des Jardins” in Jalenques offers guided tours of the Château and an insight into its rescue and restoration work. Dates and programme details may change with each edition. If the event is important to your travel dates, check the latest dates and programme.

Activities and Visiting Conditions

The Saint-Clair de Verdun site is accessible all year round; group visits are available by appointment. The game “Eliette à Saint-Clair de Verdun” is a separate activity: it can be played with a downloadable clue booklet, but only during the opening hours of the Chapelle Saint-Clair de Verdun. If you plan to play the game, schedule your visit around the chapel’s opening hours. Year-round access to the site does not change this condition.

The “Oreilles en balade” trail offers a storytelling experience: listen on your phone to stories from residents about the Ségala and the chapels of Quins. The activity is available throughout 2026. Unlike the Quinsoise, which focuses on route distances, this experience centres on stories and their connection to the region.

The annual Quinsoise public hike offers a long route of 15 km and a short one of 11 km, followed by a shared 9 km route in the afternoon. The two routes mentioned differ by 4 km. Routes and schedules may vary with each edition, so check the dates and details for the relevant edition before taking part.

La Ferme des Andes offers a roughly 1.5-hour walking tour with llamas, starting at the farm. This is similar in duration to the approximate one-to-one-and-a-half-hour visit to Jalenques. However, the activities are different in nature: here, the focus is on the walk with llamas, while there it is on visiting a historic and archaeological site. You can compare the duration estimates with the nature of each activity.

Find a Hotel in Quins

When looking for a hotel in Quins, you can start by considering the fixed dates and times for your stay. If you plan to attend the Fête des Jardins, the dates and programme are relevant; the game in Saint-Clair is subject to the chapel’s opening hours. Route distances and approximate visit durations can then help you fit the different activities into your travel plans and tailor your accommodation search to the purpose of your trip.
