Longpré-Les-Corps-Saints combines marshland with marked trails, nature activities and historic sites. If you are planning a hotel stay, you can focus your trip on the landscape and tours, or on sacred history and remembrance. The following places of interest show what these themes have to offer locally.

Marshes, nature trails and tours

The Marais de Longpré-les-Corps-Saints covers more than 160 hectares. Ponds, reed beds, meadows and wooded marshland shape the landscape. At the Maison des Marais, the focus is on discovering natural habitats. Operated by the tourist office, the center welcomes visitors. Located on the Somme Valley cycle route, the Maison is a starting point for discovering the ecosystem of Longpré-les-Corps-Saints, including its fauna, flora and the history of peat extraction.

The Maison des Marais provides access to a network of more than 100 kilometers of marked trails. One named nature walk is the Circuit des Prés volés, which leads through the peatlands and marshes of Long and Longpré-les-Corps-Saints. The circular route can also start at the Maison des Marais. There is a parking lot there; the train station is 1.7 kilometers from the Maison. Check the current route and facilities before your trip.

There is also a specific starting point for a bike ride. The Chés Intailles cycling route (Boucle B) starts at the Maison des Marais, is 36 kilometers long and ends in the municipality. Check the current route before setting out. Nature activities at the Maison des Marais also include canoe trips; detailed schedules may vary.

Sacred history and remembrance

The Collégiale Notre Dame de l’Assomption was built in the 12th century to house 116 relics brought back from the Crusades. The Romanesque crypt includes a pilgrims’ hall, the founders’ tomb, a 16th-century Entombment sculpture and the cenotaph of Aléaume de Fontaine. A visit to the crypt is possible by reservation, which must be made at least 48 hours in advance; at least two people must take part. Check the visiting arrangements before your trip.

Another historic site is the English cemetery of 1914/1918. Its 79 graves are arranged in four rows: 58 English, 20 Australian and one French grave. A ceremony is held there every year, followed by a wreath-laying. If you are planning to attend, check the current date in advance.

At the Cavée du Quesnoy stands the Chapelle Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs, a 19th-century chapel. On September 8, during the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, the procession of the relics of Longpré stops there. If you would like to attend the procession, check the current arrangements in advance.
