Accommodation in Arrach
Arrach offers a variety of reasons to stay: the Seepark leisure complex, trails through moorland and local crafts. If you are looking for a hotel in Arrach, you can choose what to focus on based on whether you would like to include activities by the water, a hike or a museum visit in your plans.
Seepark: Water, Play and Sport
Opened in 1999, the Seepark leisure complex in Arrach includes a natural swimming lake, pirate rafts, a water fountain and an anchored bathing island. There is also a sand volleyball court, an adventure playground for children and a glass-bead pool for toddlers. Walking paths and a recreational sports area round out the complex; the area includes a grass playing field, a 400-metre tartan track, a cinder sports field and a tartan all-weather court. There is also a kiosk. Check locally before your visit to see which facilities are currently available.
Moorland and Hiking Trails in Arrach
The access point to the Arrach Moor and its educational trail is near Seepark. A raised wooden boardwalk lets you explore the nature reserve. Another specific route is the approximately three-kilometre-long climate and terrain trail. It leads from Arrach Seepark through the moorland to the energy park at Gut KleĂź and is accompanied by hiking guides. Check current dates and booking conditions before making plans.
Arrach is a health resort and has a total of 90 kilometres of marked hiking trails. It is also directly on the GOLDSTEIG certified hiking trail. These figures refer to different scales: the climate and terrain trail is a single route of approximately three kilometres, while the 90 kilometres refer to the hiking trail network as a whole. For guided tours in the Arrach Moor, contact the Arrach Tourist Information Office for dates and further information. Ask about a date that fits your stay and check the current access conditions for the nature reserve before your visit.
Crafts and Glass in Arrach
The Bayerwald Handicraft Museum at Drexler-Hof in Arrach showcases traditional local crafts. These include shoemaking, woodturning, broom making, carpentry, blacksmithing and schnapps distilling. The collection includes more than 2,000 exhibits, tools and machines. This makes local crafts a distinct attraction alongside the town’s nature and leisure activities.
Another cultural highlight is the Arrach Glass Gate, a glass monument in Arrach. It was installed in the town in 1997 to mark the inauguration of the Glass Road.
