When planning a trip, Raßreuth is best explored through its routes: several Hauzenberg local circular routes pass through the village, as does the Granite Cycle Path. There are various types of routes to choose from, whether on foot or by bike. The route type and the features listed for each route can help you decide: some descriptions name the places along the way, while others also give the distance, duration or elevation gain.

Local circular routes and trails around Raßreuth

Hauzenberg Local Circular Route 11 passes through Raßreuth, Neustift, Eitzing and Geiersberg; before setting out, check the route details for the Hauzenberg local circular routes on site. Local Circular Route 12 passes through Sauweiher, Lindbüchl, Raßreuth and Freudensee. Hauzenberg Local Circular Route 5 is listed with the following sequence: “Raßreuth – Wasserreserve – Reitner – Rosenberger – Kinatöd.” The route is approximately 7.7 kilometres long, takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes, and has an elevation gain of around 175 metres. Allow about 2 hours and 15 minutes and around 175 metres of elevation gain for this route.

“Around Freudensee” is a 1.61-kilometre circular hiking trail. This makes it considerably shorter than the approximately 7.7-kilometre Local Circular Route 5. For cyclists, the Granite Cycle Path runs from Freudensee via Raßreuth to Geiersberg. These two routes offer different kinds of outings: a short walk and a cycling route with a named sequence of places.

More things to do in the wider Hauzenberg destination

Freudensee, a centuries-old reservoir covering around seven hectares, is in the wider Hauzenberg destination. A circular path follows a natural lakeshore and largely untouched countryside, and is a lovely place to walk all year round. This adds a lake with its own circular trail as another hiking option when planning your trip.

The 1.6-kilometre nature discovery trail along the Staffelbach also runs through Hauzenberg. It is a circular route with twelve stops where visitors can explore the local natural environment. At least one audio recording can be heard at each stop. Its length, circular route and stops give this walk a different character from the local circular routes mentioned above.
