On September 24, 2026, the city announced that the Neutraubling Museum is closed until further notice due to renovation work. A new concept at a different location in new premises is planned. In addition, the newly built cultural center is a central venue in Neutraubling’s cultural life. Neutraubling Lake also provides a setting for the Neutraubling cultural festivals. Together, the two locations offer different cultural points of reference: the cultural center is a central venue, while the lake serves as a festival setting.

Two lakes, different highlights

Neutraubling Lake at Schlangenbau invites you to linger and unwind at any time of year. It also provides a setting for the Neutraubling cultural festivals. Lake Guggenberger is nearby, about 1 km as the crow flies east of Neutraubling. A circular hiking trail runs around it and can be used for jogging. Two sailing clubs, a windsurfing club, and a surf school are located directly on Lake Guggenberger. A separate designated area is set aside for surfers, sailors, and divers. The two waterfront locations can therefore be distinguished by their stated highlights: Neutraubling Lake focuses on relaxation and its festival setting, while Lake Guggenberger offers a circular trail and water sports.

Routes and leisure activities

Two routes are listed for cycling and hiking: Neutraubling is connected to the Danube Cycle Path and the Jurasteig trail. These cater to different activities: the Danube Cycle Path is for cycling, while the Jurasteig is for hiking. The 3D Funhouse in Neutraubling offers on-site virtual reality experiences with several different VR games. The BGC Neutraubling mini golf center has a panoramic terrace where coffee and cake are available after a game. Another perspective in the Regensburg destination

In the wider Regensburg destination, Walhalla offers a distinctive cultural highlight. It is one of Germany’s major neoclassical buildings and features a Doric design with 52 columns on the exterior. Since 1842, this memorial and hall of honor has honored notable Germans and figures associated with German history through marble busts and commemorative plaques. This sets it apart from Neutraubling’s cultural points of reference: Walhalla focuses on neoclassical architecture and remembrance.
