Böbing: Hiking Trails B1 to B7
Accommodation in Böbing
In Böbing, hiking trails B1 to B7 range from 4 to 13 km. Their routes differ in surface, terrain and destination. When planning your trip, you can therefore compare the trail lengths first, followed by the features of each route. In addition to the local trails, two long-distance hiking trails also pass directly through Böbing; other activities include kayaking on the Ammer, tennis and St. George’s Parish Church.
Hiking trails with different lengths and routes
The 4 km B1 lies northeast of Böbing and leads via Leithen, Thalmühle and Lugenauer See back to Böbing. Wet patches may occur between Leithen and Thalmühle in damp weather. The 5 km B2 runs through the western districts and along paved roads. The 6 km B4 takes in the Pestfriedhof cemetery and the districts of Ruhe, Wimpes and Pischlach before returning to Böbing. Apart from a few short sections, B4 also follows paved roads. The three routes therefore differ both in length and in the stops and trail surfaces mentioned.
The 13 km B3 leads from Böbing to Brombergalm. Along the way, the route passes through meadows and cattle pastures and by old farmhouses; it offers wonderful views and requires some stamina. The 11 km Panoramaweg B5 features a different sequence of terrain and surfaces: it starts out flat, climbs later on, and then continues at a leisurely pace through a section of moorland. Wet patches may occur in the moorland section. B5 then runs mostly along paved roads over a ridge and past old farmhouses.
The 9 km B6 initially follows the same route as B5, branches off before Kohlbachel, and returns to Böbing via Schöffauer Straße and the section before Röthenbach. If you would rather make Schnalzberg your destination, B7 is a 6 km route to the mountain north of town. There are sweeping views from the summit and a summit cross. The outward route follows paved roads up to the summit; on the way back, it initially passes through cattle pastures and then follows paved roads again. The routes described can thus also be distinguished by whether the focus is on a ridge, a moorland section, farmhouses or Schnalzberg.
For longer hiking routes, the König-Ludwig-Weg and the Munich Way of St. James pass directly through Böbing. The König-Ludwig-Weg runs from Starnberg to Füssen, while the Munich Way of St. James runs from Munich to Bregenz. Their names and endpoints indicate a different scale from the numbered local trails: both are long-distance hiking trails that pass through Böbing on their respective routes.
Kayaking, tennis and winter activities
The Ammer is 4 km from the town. For experienced kayakers, one route runs from Saulgrub to the Ammerbrücke Böbing/Rottenbuch bridge; from there, an easier route continues to Peißenberg. Kayaking is permitted from May 1 to December 1. The routes mentioned and the permitted season are important differences to consider when planning this activity. Horse-drawn sleigh rides are among the winter activities in Böbing.
Tennis is another local activity: Böbing has four tennis courts. For information, contact SC Böbing via Fabian Kees at +0179 1382457.
St. George’s Parish Church
St. George’s Parish Church in Böbing has side-altar paintings by Martin Speer of Wildsteig, dating from 1728. The artist, his origins and the date provide a specific cultural point of interest to include in your stay. Together with the different hiking trails and the sports activities mentioned, the church offers another perspective on Böbing beyond planning your routes.
