In Pattensen, you can include trails of varying lengths, a self-guided city tour, and historic sites in your travel plans. The specific details about route length, start and finish points, and the recommended uses of each route help you decide in advance which destinations suit your stay. If you are looking for a hotel, you can choose your destination based on whether you would rather hike, cycle, or explore Pattensen’s history.

Choose trails by length and activity

The Pattenser Rundweg is 8 km long and starts and finishes at the former town hall in Pattensen. It is flat and runs entirely on paved paths. It is suitable for hiking and cycling, as well as for strollers and wheelchairs.

The Calenberger Ackerweg offers another circular route: at 10 km, it starts and finishes at the Pattensen indoor swimming pool. This route is also flat, runs on paved paths, and is suitable for hiking and cycling. The 12 km Oerier Wald-und-Flur-Weg also starts and finishes at the Pattensen indoor swimming pool and is suitable for hiking and cycling.

For a longer bike ride, consider the Ring der Städtepartnerschaft. This circular cycling route is 32 km long, starts and finishes at the former town hall in Pattensen, and runs entirely on paved paths. Its length clearly sets it apart from the circular routes mentioned above, which are between 8 and 12 km long. You can choose a route based on your preferred tour length and the activities each route is listed as suitable for.

Two other circular routes have their own start and finish points: the 13 km Koldinger-Seen-Weg starts and finishes at Lindenplatz in Koldingen. The Leineauen-Weg is 12 km long; its start and finish points are either the Rodelberg in Pattensen on Redener Weg or the Leine bridge near the NABU in Alt-Grasdorf. Check the path conditions on site for the Pattenser Rundweg and the Leineauen-Weg. For the Calenberger Ackerweg, Oerier Wald-und-Flur-Weg, and Ring der Städtepartnerschaft, it is also advisable to check the current route markings before setting off.

City tour and historic sites

With the free Pattensen-Zeitreise app, you can take a self-guided city tour. It includes 16 stops where you can experience Pattensen’s history on site. Check whether the app is available before your trip. The stops make the app a distinct way to explore the city’s history as you go, rather than choosing one of the circular routes listed by length.

Its approximate age and architectural style provide a specific historical point of reference for a visit to Jeinsen. At the Feste Calenberg in Schulenburg, a district of Pattensen, ramparts, cellars, foundations, and the remains of a gun tower have been preserved. Some areas have been closed since 2008. Take this restriction into account when planning your visit.
