Bothel lies between the small rivers Rodau, Wiedau and Vissel. When planning your stay, it is worth exploring the different sides of the village: the attractions along the Brook Route, the farm café beneath the oak trees at Meyershof and the heated outdoor pool. Timing is important for the outdoor pool: it is closed in 2026 for renovation work and is scheduled to reopen as usual from May 2027.

Bothel and the Brook Route

The Brook Route lists a windmill and a noteworthy church in Bothel as attractions. Both offer a reason to look beyond the leisure facilities and take in the local buildings as well. The windmill is listed as an attraction, while the church is described as noteworthy. Together with Bothel’s location between the Rodau, Wiedau and Vissel, they paint a picture that brings together the landscape and features of the village, without presenting any single attraction as representative of the entire place.

If you plan your stay around your interests, you can combine these sights with a visit to the farm café or—with the exception of its closure period—with a trip to the outdoor pool. Check for current notices in advance if you are planning your visit specifically around these attractions.

Farm Café at Meyershof

The farm café beneath the oak trees is located at Meyershof in Bothel’s old village center. Its offerings include Italian ice cream, homemade cakes and tarts, and hot and iced drinks. As the menu may change, it is a good idea to check the latest information before planning a visit. Meyershof has been undergoing extensive renovation since 2021; this status may also change.

If you are arriving by bicycle, the information about the courtyard is useful: it has plenty of bicycle parking, and e-bikes can be charged for free at a charging station by the farm café. A children’s play area is next to the courtyard. These features may be important when choosing somewhere to visit, but they are no substitute for checking the latest visitor information. If you are traveling by e-bike, you can factor in the charging option and check the current status before your visit.

The Outdoor Pool: Facilities and Opening Plans

Bothel’s heated outdoor pool is located in the village. Facilities include a swimming pool with starting blocks, a non-swimmer pool with a small waterslide, and a baby pool. There is also a sandbox and a beach volleyball court. The different pools and additional leisure facilities appeal to different interests; however, the current closure for renovation work is the key factor when planning your visit.

The outdoor pool is closed in 2026 and is scheduled to reopen as usual from May 2027. As this reopening is planned, we recommend checking the operating status before your trip. This lets you plan the timing of your stay based on the information available without treating the planned opening as a reopening that has already taken place.
