There are various places and experiences to focus on during a trip to Boltenhagen: the beach, pier, spa park and steep coast, as well as an exercise trail and a fishing trip. The following details can help you identify your interests before looking for a hotel.

Beach, pier and steep coast

The pier in the Baltic Sea resort of Boltenhagen is 290 metres long, was inaugurated in 1992 and is accessible to people with disabilities. As you stroll along the pier, you can look out over the white sandy beach, the town and the Baltic Sea. A walk on the pier thus combines views of the coast with views of Boltenhagen.

Public beach volleyball nets are available on Boltenhagen beach. Beach facilities may change seasonally. If you want to include the nets in your plans, check in advance whether they will be available at your chosen time.

The steep coast is another natural feature: it rises to a height of 35 metres and is described as a glacial debris coast. With a little luck, hikers may discover fossils at the foot of the steep coast. Finding one is possible, but not guaranteed—the coastal landform itself remains the reliable point of reference for this part of the town.

Spa park and finding your way around the spa centre

The spa park brings together landscaped features and a year-round events programme. Its features include covered promenades, a concert pavilion, a drinking hall, white wooden benches and a 500-metre-long boxwood hedge. The programme is for all ages and includes children’s activities, spa concerts, silent discos and party nights.

As individual events and schedules may change, check the dates if a particular concert or other event is important to your stay. The tourist information office and the spa library are on the ground floor of the spa centre.

Building history in Boltenhagen

Local architectural history also includes the Protestant Church of Paulshöhe: a rectangular Neo-Gothic brick building inaugurated in 1873. The church’s design, material and year of inauguration provide a specific historical context.

Exercise and coastal fishing

The activity park is an exercise trail along the forest promenade. You can try out its fitness equipment as you walk around.

The fishing trip aboard the Uschi fishing boat offers a different kind of experience. It departs from Tarnewitz at Weiße Wiek, starts at around 6 a.m. and lasts about three hours. During the trip, you’ll gain insights into the traditional craft of coastal fishing; you’ll also have the opportunity to take the helm yourself. As details and date availability may change, check which dates are available in advance if you want to plan the trip as a definite part of your stay.

A small fishing fleet supplies the town with fresh fish from Boltenhagen’s fishing harbour. Coastal fishing is therefore part of both the fishing trip and the town’s local supply.

For planning your day, the fishing trip and spa park programme differ: the trip starts at around 6 a.m. and lasts about three hours, while the events in the spa park depend on their individual dates. Check the available tour dates and specific event dates if you want to plan either one as a definite part of your stay.
