Hiking Trail No. 75 is a moderately difficult 9.8-kilometre circular route that starts and finishes on Bitburger Straße. Along the way, there are panoramic views across the Prüm Valley. Wild orchids may be visible along the route in spring and summer, but sightings are not guaranteed. Check that the trail information is up to date before setting out.
The Oberweis Crosses Trail is about 14 kilometres long and has 12 stops with numbered information boards. By comparison, No. 75 is described as a moderately difficult circular route starting and finishing in Oberweis; the length and stops provide the main points of reference for the Crosses Trail. No. 75 also features wayside crosses dating from four centuries, making it an outing that brings together nature, culture and village history.
The area’s natural heritage includes the “Mergel slopes with orchids” natural monument in Oberweis. The possibility of spotting orchids in spring and summer adds a seasonal aspect to the views across the Prüm Valley; treat it as a possibility, not a guaranteed outcome of the hike.
