Hömberg lies on the Lahn Heights at the foot of the Westerwald and within Nassau Nature Park. From here, sweeping views extend to the Taunus, Hunsrück, and Eifel. If you are planning a stay, the four signposted local circular trails offer different lengths and their own points of interest along the way. The routes and their waypoints give you concrete reference points when choosing a route.

Hiking on the Lahn Heights

H1 is about 4 km long and passes over the Pionierbrüggelche. H2 covers about 3.4 km and offers views towards Nassau Castle and the Lahn Valley. The approximately 8.3 km H3 loop passes over the Ehrlichskopf and by a former slate quarry. H4 runs via Herrnley, Hahnenkopf, and the Gertrudishöhe viewpoint and is about 6 km long.

In terms of distance, H2 is the shortest loop and H3 the longest; H1 and H4 fall in between. H4 includes steep sections and is recommended for experienced hikers. The routes therefore differ not only in length but also in their respective stops and waypoints. Compare this information when choosing a route, and check current trail conditions before setting out.

The local hiking trails are marked with colored signs and start at the former ADAC car park on the Nassau side of Hömberg. An information board at this location describes the routes. Further parking is available near Hotel Taunusblick. As parking arrangements, conditions, and signage may change, check local information before setting off and beginning your hike.

Rural character and other attractions

In addition to the hiking routes, there is a Kneipp facility about 270 m from the village, as well as hiking car parks and picnic areas with grills. The local network of routes is said to extend across the Lahn Heights. Alongside the individual circular trails, these facilities and areas may also be worth considering when planning a stay. Availability and access arrangements may change; check these before visiting.

Hof Taunusblick is associated with farm holidays, a petting meadow, dairy goat farming, an on-site goat cheese dairy, and an organic shop. These farm offerings add agriculture and regional produce to the picture of rural Hömberg. If you are planning a visit or intend to make use of any of the offerings, check in advance whether they are currently operating and whether access is possible.
