Rabenkirchen-Faulück brings together examples of rural architectural heritage and church art with golf and a bathing spot on the Schlei. This gives you a range of themes to choose from when planning your trip: St. Mary’s Church and the Karschau three-sided farmstead offer historical perspectives, while Stenerberg Golf Course and the bathing spot cater to different leisure interests. If you’re looking for a hotel in Rabenkirchen-Faulück, weighing up these themes can help you shape your stay around your plans.

Church art spanning several centuries

St. Mary’s Church in Rabenkirchen combines a Romanesque fieldstone structure with works of art from the early modern period. The surviving fieldstone building dates from the late 12th century. The pulpit was carved by Berend Cornellissen in Husum in 1637. The organ was built in 1697; Matthias Hansen is believed to have been its builder.

Paintings from the first third of the 17th century can be found on the ground floor of the tower. They depict large apostles in richly decorated late Renaissance frames. The tower paintings are a very rare example of the flourishing of art in the Schleswig region at the beginning of the 17th century. The church thus brings Romanesque architecture and early modern furnishings together, alongside the history of its pulpit and organ.

The Karschau three-sided farmstead

The protected Karschau 10 three-sided farmstead in Rabenkirchen-Faulück offers a different perspective on rural history. The farmstead was established beside the Schlei in the last quarter of the 19th century; the farmhouse dates to around 1880. It illustrates rural domestic life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Compared with St. Mary’s Church, it points to a much later period of building and domestic life, while remaining another example of regional history.

Stenerberg Golf Course: course and practice areas

Stenerberg Golf Course is a 9-hole course with a par of 70. It measures 5,174 metres from the men’s yellow tees. This distinction is important when interpreting the course details; check the specifications before your trip. Practice facilities include a partially covered driving range, putting and chipping greens, and a 6-hole short course. In addition to the regular course, the facilities therefore include several practice areas.

Guests do not need to book a tee time, and guest green fees are available. As playing and guest policies may change, check them before you arrive. This lets you take both the course details and practical arrangements for your visit into account.

Bathing spot on the Schlei

The Rabenkirchen-Faulück bathing spot is on the Schlei and is used for swimming. It has a boat slipway; a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) can also be launched there. Check the water access conditions before your visit. The bathing spot is not supervised by the DLRG.

A kiosk and restaurant are located at the campsite opposite the bathing spot. As opening arrangements may change, check what is currently open before your visit. This helps you include the bathing spot and nearby amenities in your day’s plans without confusing their different locations.
